...over our results against FCS YSU, GO check out UGA vs FCS Stamford. Very similar result after we each played a ranked team.

On paper, Georgia is still much better with great depth at perhaps all positions, but the reality is we're not AS far off target as some might think. Clearly we have enough things to get cleared up right away. I'm just pointing this out so some come off the ledge

It’s a good point, but I think UGA’s o line is much better than Kentuckys, and Georgia is way better than everybody right now

Who thr hells fretting about 3 covers and 6 straight scoreless quarters?

Nothing wrong with high expectations!
Anybody who either hoped or expected Stoops to drop 50 on Youngstown State needs to do some reflection.

Stoops turns them loose against Louisville, every year, but will not embarrass our G5 and FCS folks who come down for a check, if it can be helped.

As for the Cards, Stoops heard enough “slapdick” talk his first 3 seasons to know what needed to be done.

Is it the O line or is it Levis not able to check down quicker and Smoke is just not that good at RB. Frankly I don’t know, but just throwing it out there
Levis’ accuracy worries me alittle vs better defenses but it’s obvious the o line needs to protect better. As long as Levis is able to keep his feet right, we get better protection for him and CR plays to his potential we will be fine in my opinion.

Standards have been raised! Fans expect dominant no doubt blowout wins over G5 & 1-AA teams! Nothing wrong with high expectations!

No. Standards haven't been raised with the negs. This is the same casual fan bullsht from 6, 10, 15, and 20 years ago. Same lack of football faith that had everyone doubting in 2018 and last season as well.

Remember when they believed we were going to get beaten badly in the Swamp without CRod and with "horrible OL play vs Miami of OH"? I mean sht, it was just 8 or so days ago. Stoops has got to be frustrated with the endemic lack of patience among a program that hasn't done anything substantial by SEC standards for over 40 years, yet has had 2 10 win seasons in the last 4 because of the patience of a few.

Are they ever going to learn any at this point?

Im just hoping USC loses at Oregon St Sat night so UK can move up to #7 in the AP for the 1st time in 45 freakin years!

Have people been fretting over our shutting out someone for the first time since 2009? Lunatics.

Yes. Exactly! They still walk among us.

Here I point out that while UGA is better on paper, they beat an FCS team by 33 points at home (while giving up a sack), and they still don't hear anything but themselves talking. It's very frustrating.

I just need to stop talking to people outside of the knowledgeable football fans I know online. I ignore the boneheads here. I just need to apply it to real life as well.

Of course. Coach has addressed the OL play so many times as a work in progress. Levis' accuracy will be better when he and the WRs are all on the same page every single play. That, too, is a work in progress. Our biggest contributors so far outside of the tight ends have been with the team for less than a year and are already working on their 2nd OC's system.

We have a little over 10 days to get things sorted

It's not just the fans, it's our head coach, his staff and the team. All knowing that if we don't improve in certain areas on offense, we won't reach the highest level needed to compete with the upper echelon of the SEC.

As usual your posts make little to no sense.

You cant have it both ways. Either we should expect to win and expect the 9th ranked team in the nation to look better against a FCS school. Or UK football hasn't moved to that point yet. My opinion is that it has.

Obviously Coach Stoops does per his statement on his call in show tonight. It's blue tinted glass wearers who think think nobody should expect more than what we saw Saturday. UK's O line getting owned by a FCS school is a huge concern.

Now thats just stupid and you know it. I shouldn't address your absurdity, but I will once and be done with it. Asking and telling a coach for 3 weeks about the issues on the OL when it's clearly and obviously plain to him as a coach is what? Brilliant? Insightful? Helpful?

Did you not read what I posted? Did you not listen to the show on wlap? Coach himself mentioned how many dozen times he's had to answer the same questions over and over about the line. THAT'S what I'm talking about.

You can take it personally all you want and either change or keep being negative. This team is still undefeated and has a new OC with a different scheme. The 2nd new scheme in 18m.

THEY’RE WORKING ON IT. THEY KNOW ABOUT IT.

Yall negs still know as little as you did when you thought we'd lose to Florida. Stop making it worse by only focusing on the negative. After 40-50 years, when are you gonna get tired of it?

Smoke has played about as well as he can. Blocking must improve. I am in the camp that thinks Levis can play a lot better. The turnovers have not hurt us yet, but they have to be eliminated.

-girthang is speaking truth here. Some folks are stuck in the past and *love* worrying/being miserable.

^that's not to say there are no issues to be addressed...CMS is aware and they're working on it.

-been following UK football for a long time. These are the halcyon days (to date, at least) UK is a very good football *program* right now. Enjoy it, savor the moments...we've been a top 25 team for at best 4 years. We area top 10 team right now...I'm gonna enjoy it (as long suffering UK fans, we *deserve* to enjoy it), rather than worry about not being top 5. This isn't basketball, every step "up" is a slow grind...there is a reason there are 5 teams (bama, uga, osu, clemson,ou) with a majority of playoff appearances...and a handful of others that have made it in once.

-be happy cat fans.

To you, yes. Thank you for the greatest of compliments.

You cant have it both ways. Either we should expect to win and expect the 9th ranked team in the nation to look better against a FCS school.

Lol. Those are not the only choices and an adult should know that. Fkn first grade thinking.

You should be confident of what you have seen, instead of fearful of everything you have yet to see.

Confident the staff will get things corrected as fast as possible, as they have for how many years now... Confident they're developing their players, as they have for how many years now... So why do you cling to the teet of negativity OR the teet of extreme hyperbole? THAT is the standard casual and/or negative fan's response level.

Rather than learn about the game and understand it, they just repeat whatever they hear on social media or from the talking heads. Think for yourself. Just because you beat a ranked team doesn't mean you won't have a less than stellar game against an FCS team JUST.LIKE.GEORGIA.DID.

EVERYONE knows Georgia is a great team. EVERYONE knows we are not Georgia. Being OCD about the mistakes we've made during games doesn't fix em, but beating that dead horse sure does take away from what they have accomplished and may accomplish. Try enjoying ONE season WHILE IT'S TAKING PLACE for a change, and help others to do the same by displaying confidence.

Remember that Georgia, even after decades of incredible recruiting compared to UK, finally won the SEC title and another championship just this past year. Imagine enjoying the season instead of being "afraid" and "worried" about "the OL problems" that "the staff needs to get cleaned up" and that so many think they're not the least bit focused on. LoL

(It's not just the OL. They're working on it. Even though they have made mistakes, they've overcome those mistakes just as other good teams do.)

Lmao. You don't fkn listen. As usual. You keep being your fktrded and disingenuous, lying self, and we'll just go back to enjoying the season and ignoring your idiotic posts and lack of reading comprehension.

Thank you, sir. Very well said and good to know you're out there with the rest of us!

It is frustrating to see the coach having to not only do his job getting the team to play their best and overcome things within the system but also trying to prove to the fans that they're working on it, and try to build up their confidence at the same time.

Ain't reading all that drivel. You're triggered huh....🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s the o-line, they don’t pick up pressures well
Yep. Levis needs to improve accuracy, Smoke could chip block better, and our RB stable will be better with C-Rod on the field, BUT our OL neither run-blocks nor pass-blocks well. Gotta get proficient at one…preferably both as we get into the meat grinder of conference play. Better OL play, and all facets of the game will benefit.

Let’s build back that Big Blue Wall!

GBB!

Reality hits everyone at some point. Our past has NOTHING to do with evaluating our team’s deficiencies on a weekly basis. This is a FREAKIN UK Football message board used for DISCUSSION!!

I would counter that you are short sighted for NOT expecting our football team to be better because our program is at a point where we can ACTUALLY compete for an SEC Championship!! If that’s considered “neg” then you have no idea what that means.

Those of us that KNOW football can see EXACTLY what our coaching staff sees. And that is there are areas of improvement that if they are reached can propel this team into a level NEVER seen here. That’s what we ALL want!!!

Yeah, I've watched Mark Stoops football for 10 yrs, **I** know what he does against a typical MAC/Sun Belt/1-AA. I know he uses those games to experiment with lineups, with playcalls, with getting backups & true frosh on film. And he saves the rah rah emotional enthusiastic fuel for SEC opponents, so the team might look like sleepwalking. He's fine with a safe 3 score W.

And I'm fine with it! The formula works! Trying to gas up a team 12 straight games means burnout.

BUT

there ain't nothing wrong with other fans expressing disappointment! With wanting to watch the Wildcats thrash somebody like Knoxville did Akron (63 pts), or Ohio did Toledo(77).

Didn’t even know there was a problem. I’m in the camp that thinks we’re being slightly overrated, but wow I’ve never seen UK teams that look like they belong on the same field with the top of the SEC in terms of talent.

Thought the game was fine. Week 3 against a scrub eh. Also every team has some sort of weakness unless we’re talking Bama and Georgia. And even then they’ve got some soft spots here and there. You can’t be an NFL team boys.

I for one will not calm down, and will, instead, make everybody's life on this board a living hell as I fret about crap beyond my control.
Such is the life of a FAN!!!

A little news flash, it’s not exclusive to UK Football fans. Actually, wanting AND expecting more is EXACTLY what Coach Stoops, his staff and his players WANT from themselves AND our fan base.

To me, and I’m a hella sob when it comes to basketball, it’s hard to find problems in football. I mean obviously 2-10 win seasons, and a team this year that looks to be in the running? Or at least in the conversation for potentially a NY6? We’re being looked at like a VT type of program which I’ve wanted since birth 36 years ago.

Our O-line isn’t great right now, oh well. Figure it out or play the game with it in mind.

My real concern is whatever is going on with the NIL. I don’t know enough about it to say, but if it is a problem that can halt all of our progress in 2-4 years dead in its tracks. If we’re going to bitch or worry, that’s where it should be.

I’m not really concerned about anything with NIL or anything else concerning the football program. This is UK. Barney has been here for awhile now and the sports programs are all doing just fine. Was a SOB when it came to basketball also. Now I’m MIA. But that’s my choice, not anyone else’s problem. This is an historic time for us (UK) in football. Enjoy the ride. Basketball will be back where it belongs after Cal, eventually. We’re breaking new ground in football. Plant your taters now or eat hickernuts and acorns later.
