For the love of god stop losing to football schools

Every school except like 5 are football schools.
Yep. Just curious, do you know financially how UK football compares to UK MBB? I wouldn't be at all shocked if the revenue is similar, although a lot of both may come from one big TV contract.

Anyhow I think they're in the same ballpark. And if even Kentucky has them in the same ballpark, that says it all.
We lose games we should win and win games we should lose
Please let that continue just one more game, OK? Y'all will be about 9 point favorites. But you still have 3 tough games that you'll probably win.

Football generates more revenue than any other sport at UK and roughly twice as much as basketball. Those two sports pay for themselves and all other UK varsity sports as well.

Our roster is made of mid-major and second-tier major college players, even when we had all 12 scholarship players. If our 7 seniors had NBA talent, they would already be there. We are without the services of four of our top players (including Carr who is obviously not nearly 100% since his back injury). Our three freshmen can be solid role players as juniors and seniors at a major college, but normally wouldn't play much at any big time college like Kentucky or Duke as freshmen. As my grandpa would have said, you ain't gonna win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, or Belmont running a Shepland pony against the thoroughbreds. Right now, we got Shepland ponies, the other guys have the Man-of-Wars and the Secretariats. You saw yesterday, Tre Johnson of Texas was on a whole different talent level than our guys, who can't run as fast or jump as high as the elites. Next year, Coach should being in some 5 star freshmen, and some higher quality major college transfers instead of the mid-majors he did this year.

This isn't the same old SEC like back in the day. When it was UK and everyone else. Schools have invested and improved their facilities and brought in really good coaches. Plus with NIL too.
I agree with this whole heartedly and it’s time for us to adjust going forward. I really do think the handling of NIL is very important. I could be wrong but I think Coach Pope understands that.

That list is crazy. I guess OP needs to point out those are pretty much the most successful football schools of the last 25 years, only really other schools you could argue as high as those 5 would be LSU and Oklahoma and they are coming up on our schedule.

Another disappointing year so far. I know Pope had to put this team together on the fly but it's another disappointing season. It's what we get for not letting that fraud, Calipari, go after he shit down his leg in the final 3 minutes of the Final 4 vs. Wisconsin.
Totally agree we should have let Cal go years ago but injuries have derailed this season and nothing else. It’s a damn shame.

This is a crazy assumption. Even a bad football team is a lot more than basketball in revenue.

Kentucky football brought in 50.4 million in revenue , basketball - 32.1 million in 2023.

And if we are losing to all these football schools now, does this mean we are in trouble of losing next year when the series starts back with Indiana ?

cause', you know, they're a football school now.

right

Revenue is one thing but expenses and profitability are another. Interested to see those numbers as well.
