Florida wins

It definitely is tough to win a natty in football. I disagree that UF only cares about football, though. I’m not even sure how you could objectively measure that claim. As far as football prominence, UF has a couple of rough years, but is trending upward.
I guess an upward trend would be a top 25 finish. Napier has the Gator FB program in the bottom half of the SEC.

My bracket was awesome this year and I didn’t get in a pool. Figures. I missed 3 sweet 16, 1 elite 8, 1 final 4. Got the ship correct. Bummer.

In these last 25 years, we have one title, two title game appearances, four Final Fours, nine Elite Eights and 12 Sweet Sixteens. We have been a one seed five times.

In the previous 25 years, we had three titles, four title game appearances, six Final Fours, 11 Elite Eights and 14 Sweet Sixteens*. We were a one seed six times.

* 1988 Sweet 16 was vacated, so technically 13.

I think the other conference school fans look at us the way they look at Alabama in football. No one roots for Alabama when other schools are good enough to win it all. They want the other schools to have their moment. They only root for Alabama when the conference is down and needs its best program to lead a resurgence.

The strength of the SEC is why Fla was so tough and able to keep winning games in the Dance. Dan Patrick said winning the SEC tourny was like winning the NCAA title. Some how Golden has the youth and smarts to inspire and create a team chemistry quickly. Certainly did this year. And probably had some luck along the way. I was really hoping for 4 sec teams in the finals....

Exactly because do you think if we are going for a National Championship they would be rooting for us.... No they wouldn't none of the SEC would!
Go read what I just posted.

One thing has always been true-

Give credit and praise when its due WITHOUT an additional "backhanded slap in the mouth" and you will tend to notice more people that support you and less people embracing the role of antagonists.

This goes beyond kentucky or sports.

Can't believe some UK fans were rooting for Florida.
Some of us have brothers that went to Florida. Some of us were born in Florida where all 3 of their older siblings, as well as their father, were huge Florida Gator fans and grew up in a house divided. Never root for Florida primarily, especially against Kentucky. But secondarily, absolutely. It's a very unique situation.
