The games mentioned in here are a perfect example of why isn’t outrageous that people are trying to discount an average margin of victory of 40+ over 3 games (including exhibitions) due to quality of opponent.
It’s hard to beat anyone by 40. 20 pt wins against bad teams is the norm for good teams. 40 is total domination and suggest we have a complete team. Duke beat Maine by 30 tn. Maine was 13-17 last season. I’d argue that’s similar competition to our last 2 games and yet ppl will hype Duke and downplay the Cats right now. Not saying we beat them on the 9th, but we are a legit top 15 team and maybe top 10 right now.

Tenn only beat Gardner Webb by 16. That isn’t to discount UT. But should to make clear that beating a solid mid major by 40 is an indicator of potential.

Yea, Buzz is Tom Izzo-lite in his prime. Start the season out slow every year and turn it up at the end.
