Florida is getting hosed by Refs

Their fans are 10 times WORSE than Dukes, if that tells you anything. Calhoun was a HUGE jerk and Hurley is much of the same.
EASY team to dislike, having experienced them in 2011(twice) and 2014.
I hate UCONN as much as any team especially since we were hosed against them twice. Their fans make me sick too, they are as bad as anyone’s.

Florida is being outcoached and outplayed.

UConn always sends shot blockers--you just trace behind off penetration and you'll be wide open for a dunk. So when Johnson/Reed go to chase the driver--follow and be ready to catch and finish.

Get punked on the glass-UConn has owned the offensive glass and Clayton was terrible despite 2 made Threes.

They have never been here as a Staff/Team and it looks like it. Allowing UConn to control pace. If I played UConn, I'd press them fullcourt because they have 1 PG who is playing on one good leg and they have 0 backup guard with Maheny being unplayable.

Florida is losing this on the boards and TOs. UConn can’t shoot this bad all game
They can-but the issue is now they are even with a putrid half. Now you have given them hope and they have guys who have been there and a Staff who knows how to win and you have to rely on figuring it out together. Can UF get this done? Absolutely but they have to be tougher and are playing soft like everyone is going to bow down and UConn won't do that.

UF Big Men need to show up-they collectively have STUNK

Also--Golden has to dump the Analytics--Martin was taken out when he was taking over the game and there was a window to expand the lead and put in doubt--and now it's even because Martin sat while the Euro Guard came in and fouled Ball on a 3pt shot.....and too much Analytical subbing from Gators. This is a game you grind with your best and if you lose-at least you go down with best players.

Yeah Florida needs to take care of the ball and switch what they are doing a little, they keep trying to pass across court. They haven’t tried screening to get the guards going downhill at all. Usually Condon and the bigs clean the glass. They need to get back to that, it’s what makes them so tough. They definitely don’t want this close late. Big advantage UCONN.

UConn when they don’t have the elite team mucks it up. It’s smart play. Refs aren’t calling much it’s like aau ball lite.

That’s what worries me about Pope. The staff swears by analytics and we get some random lineups that have no shot.

Calls are definitely one sided but Florida is lost on D. Several instances where you had 2 or 3 guys chasing the ball. Get that corrected and they should be fine.

Also condon and haugh oddly played together very little. Thats an extremely effective pair, one of the best duos in the nation, so not sure what is going on with their rotation.

Honestly, UCONN is hip checking every screen on offense, leading to Florida players being out of position. It hasn't been called, but it's been blatant. I saw a lot of that, this year, go uncalled in the SEC. It's really something that needs to be cleaned up

Gotten away with tons of illegal screens and rebounding fouls.

Hurley even ran way out on the court to pat his player and nothing.

I agree. I think analytics are a huge part of the game. Especially over the long haul of a season. I also think there is a place for a gut feeling in the midst of a singular game. If analytics tell you it’s time to take a player out and they are on fire and killing the opponents, your gut should tell him to let him cook.

Why do you all watch basketball if you believe the refs are always biased against the team you want to win? Oh.... and don't forget the announcers, networks and even the commercials.
Well, speaking for myself, the fun is in seeing which team the refs want to help win today. That's still a mystery most days unless there's a home team because usually the home team is going to get the calls their way.

Kind of mad at myself for not taking Golden’s inexperience into consideration when filling out my bracket. It’s absolutely a factor today

That’s a mix crew with SEC ref in it.

I knew that UConn is going to be a tough out. They have size and shooters plus good coaching .

Florida needs to take care of the ball and stop allowing UConn to get offensive rebounds.
UConn also missed some bunnies and the momentum was with them.

The pace of the game first half favored UConn. On grinding game UConn won. If Florida cannot stay in front and keep losing players on switches they will lose the opportunity for fast breaks. On half court game , UConn wins.

Thats more to do with Noah, Perry, and before he stepped up his game Chandler, next year when its soph Chandler and Moreno, Lewis and Johnson coming in , thats talented enough freshmen that they shouldnt have the bad lineups that had hurt us some this year.

Just an observation.

Why do you bother to comment when you are always just being obstinate?
I'm not really sure to tell you the truth. Although I guess having a different opinion makes a person obstinate, right? We're all supposed to agree on every topic, is that how it's supposed to go?

They are two long to press and turn them over. They are the better team.

Florida has no defense… switching everything and losing the corners or the drive … not rebounding.

That’s how we beat them by outscoring them.

UConn is just the better team, and Goldin didn’t prepare well the game.

You speak truth. I hate UCONN. Hate them with the intensity of 1000 burning suns.

That being said, WTF is Florida doing? They have decided to let UC dictate the game.
