That’s true. The premise of the OP’s thread title is actually correct. Florida’s offense did torch our defense.

But ours torched theirs even worse. It was a good day for O and a bad one for D on both sides.

To be honest, I'd rather win 106-100 than 66-60. Lower scoring defensive battles haven't been that good to us in recent years. I'm done with the rock fight games. We just aren't athletic enough to be a great defensive team, but man we can put up some points.

If we can just get a little better defensively and rebound better, we have a shot at going far. We probably will lose 5 or 6 more games with this ridiculous schedule but so will pretty much the rest of the conference as well (even more for some). I think we can get a top 4 NCAA Tournament seed and let's see what happens.

I think our offense has been pretty good and kept up.

Subject to cold nights, but that’s the modern game and most teams face the same issue.

Defense may not be “great” but it seemingly knows when to switch on just enough.

Team overall has shown it can win multiple ways. Late D, hot scoring, this player that player…

I'm not getting why we struggle defensively. Butler,oweh,Williams were all know for there defense. The question was there ability to shoot/score. So I figured with butler/oweh out front and Williams rim protection,we would be solid! But that hasn't been the case.

I think Williams is still adjusting just enough to better athletic opponents that his reaction/timing for shot blocking is still a little slow

This defense is pathetic. We have 2 good defenders. And the rest aren’t even decent. They are well below average. Florida game will get ugly. Pope is going to have to make this team a zone team and never play man to man in the sec. We won’t survive playing man to man in this league.

So you say you love and want defense. It’s what is constant and wins you games.
Florida had the number 10 all around defense. The number 2 three point defense.
They lost with the best offensive game they played this year.
Maybe you just want something to complain about
Do we need to rebound better…yes.
With our limited athleticism I think they are doing ok at staying in front of faster, more athletic guys.

Where are you getting those stats? Kenpom has Florida ranked 36th in defensive efficiency.
