Except for the pesky stats that Florida is ranked sixth nationally in defensive efficiency, ranked second in the nation in half court defense and ranked in the top 25 overall.

Lets not get silly in the W. Florida is very good. It took an exceptional shooting game to narrowly beat them at Rupp. I am super excited about the win, but I am not going to bash a team who came in Rupp and took it to the wire. Be more classy in winning, no need to talk shit about the opponent. Was we overrated against OSU ? Clemson ? Like I said, we needed a 37/64 (58%) and 14/29 (3FG%) shooting performance to narrowly beat them, they are far from overrated.

That’s true. The premise of the OP’s thread title is actually correct. Florida’s offense did torch our defense.
But ours torched theirs even worse. It was a good day for O and a bad one for D on both sides.
Only problem is the final score is what determines who won the game, not whether or not you were exemplary on both ends. OP went on record for a slaughter…which certainly did not happen. Go Cats!

Op is here. Tell me where I was wrong in this post? Did they not destroy our defense? Our defense is just as bad as last years. 91 in kenpom. I’m hard on this team bc I appreciate hard nose defense/ hustle plays more than a pretty offense bc the offense won’t always be there. But the people on here who get their feelings hurt when u call out such things like how bad our defense is is quite comical lol
OP was half right in his post. The problem was he didn’t just say the defense would struggle to contain Florida’s offense.
He said the game would get ugly, and the Cats could never survive playing man to man defense. So, the gist of that post was crapping on the team’s potential as a whole, not just commenting about defensive struggles.
So, I agree there are some issues with this team (limiting opponent’s offensive rebounds being my biggest concern).
However, the team doesn’t quit, love playing for each other, the university, and BBN…and they are finding ways to win.
Do I want to see them start dominating? Of course, but it is really easy to pull for this team for the reasons mentioned above.
As a fan with no control of the teams performance, hard to ask for much more than that.
