This defense is pathetic. We have 2 good defenders. And the rest aren’t even decent. They are well below average. Florida game will get ugly. Pope is going to have to make this team a zone team and never play man to man in the sec. We won’t survive playing man to man in this league.

You’re a clown. Every game you one up yourself.

High ball screen from 30 ft is all they did, I mean every team in America runs it but yet we never found an answer…….this is Ohio st too and not the caliber we will see every night in league play. I’d love to see someone get mad or show some fire etc.

Defense is bad, but give up too many rebounds and too many layups
Every body drives inside and nobody there to block shots

I don’t know what Pope is going to do. Williams was a big key in Pope’s mind but he is so soft that he is a major liability. He does manage to get rebounds but he just has a low motor. He is not physical enough and just lets everything happen to him versus being assertive. Carr, Oweh and Robinson have to get more physical and rebound much better to take Williams out. Garrison maybe can take over more but that’s not a major upgrade.

I just think for how this team was built Carr and Williams on the floor together at the same time isn’t working.

Yes. Cart and Williams or Carr and Garrison won’t work. We’re fortunate to have beaten Duke and Gonzaga with the current strategy.

The reality is this team isn’t good enough to make serious noise anyway, but it would be nice to see our best lineup out there.

People here don’t want to hear it, but we might be one of the worst teams in the SEC.
I don't know if we are the worst or not, but if we don't regain our 3-point shooting, we are in serious trouble. This team's early success was because other teams' fear that they had to play to score in the upper 80s to win. This often had them playing out of character, but now that we can't throw a beachball into the ocean with one foot in the water, we are no longer feared. We are starting to look very familiar.

Amari looks like he's irritated that he has to be out there, that he's ready to move into something else. No excuse for what we're seeing. I'd love to see CMP rip him a new one.

I am sure you posted similar messages about fans who started sounding the alarm about Cal. Some of you think things will be ok just because that is what you desire.
We were right about Cal , and we very well lose at Florida , like 95 % of every other ncaa teams … but Pope >>>>>>>> The snake oil salesman … so I’ll live thru this season with some bumps and bruises , and fight on . I mean what’s your point - sound the alarm against Coach Pope ?

Good grief. Take the Big Blue Goggles off and come back to reality. We're going to lose games. I wasn't happy with the loss either, but that's the worst we've played by a mile but don't act like we've been this way all season. Bad games happen to good teams.

Put a bumper on this thread to be revisited in a couple of weeks

Just to clear up your confusion, there is no bigger Pope fan on this board than me. I was advocating for Pope before he was seriously considered for the job. The problem isn't Pope. He has done what no other coach could have done with limited talent. However, there is no reason not to believe we are capable of regaining early season play if the internal problem is resolved.

The ones on here who have attacked me never want to admit it but this teams biggest issue besides the shooting falling off a cliff is the lack of shot creation. Other teams know our bigs are zero threats offensively, so they face guard Kentucky shooters. They also know our guards can’t create either, so that basically means Kentucky needs to be making 10-15 3s every game, and they are not. Popes biggest mistake was taking guys like Almanor & Krisa instead of going and getting a first option type of guy. Jacob small or gears from Oklahoma or name somebody else would have changes to is Kentucky roster for the better
