Basically, he said Yenser is a better coach (for him) and he had a hard time separating off field stuff from on field stuff last year. Also mentioned that Yenser doesn't ream the player for a mistake but coaches him up to get it right the next play. Sounds like Flax didn't particularly appreciate Wolford's screaming, cussing and berating players - can't say I blame him. From what little that's been reported, Yenser is a whole lot more like J. Schlarman than Wolf and the players are responding. Throw in Drake as grad asst and you've got staff that will work with the players and coach them up. I'm becoming more confident with every report that the BBW will be alive and well come fall.

With a solid BBW combined with, for Kentucky, a ridiculous amount of skill position players (and high quality depth) and a pro-level scheme, this offense could be dynamite. Last year, one SEC DC said UK was the hardest team in the league to defend. I expect DCs to have an even tougher time this year. Multiple talents at WR, TE and RB will give DCs nightmares.

Proof will be in the pudding of Wolford vs. Yenser.....as much as I think Wolford was a douche bag the way he left....the OLine put up a dang good year as we ran the ball nearly as well as we ever did and threw it eons better while adapting to a new scheme. Integrating Fortner to Center and development of Eli Cox were really good moves by Wolford. I don't really care about yelling vs. non yelling personalities.....to be fair Stoops isn't exactly easy going dude on the sideline in his own right.

Let's see if Yenser can keep the momentum going as his biggest challenge will be developing two brand new tackles to protect the edge which is huge challenge. I do agree that I wish Wolford had rotated the OLine even a bit as it leaves you lacking in development. Let's see what Yenser can get done with a ton of youth but some promising talent.

Wolford will soon put 3 UK OL into the NFL plus he's a helluva recruiter. I know he left in a shitty way but he brought a lot to the program and will at Alabama too.

I hope Yenser can gain traction as a recruiter.

2 of those guys were nfl bound B4 Wolford got here. It was a good move to put fortner at center and probably made him a better pro prospect

Yep. Those were Schlarman's boys. I don't think there's enough evidence to say with certainty whether or not Wolf improved anything. The line was going to be good regardless. The question was just going to be "how good?". One year isn't enough to determine the effect size.

I'm all for this. Grooming Drake to be our next OL coach. I'm on board

One size doesn’t fit all. It’s difficult, but a good coach/leader knows who needs a kick in the pants and who needs a hug.

NFL rosters are too small, centers only are not efficient use of 53. the pros need guys who can be just as good at either guard spot. That's why Drake didn't work, but why Fourtner will.
Yep, just look at what the Bengals did in free agency for a perfect example of this.
