First win over Duke since I was 6 years old.

Was 13. Has been a long ride since then. Duke has always been a thorn in my side. Feel like the years we played them since, we were clearly down and then when we were equipped to beat them, we never got the chance. Tonights victory is soo sweet!

I was 12. Crazy to think it's been that long. Very happy to win and as Columbia says, we never seemed to get to play Duke in our strong years (2010, 2012, or last year).

In 1998 I was 26. I definitely remember it well. But tonight was a good one. I know this team still has a ways to go and improve, but I'm not even gonna say one negative word tonight. We took down the Dukies!

How's that song go? "And it's been awhile..."

I remember the overtime loss to them in the first Springfield Hall of Fame game in December 1979. Same season, I remember the one-point loss to them at Rupp in the Sweet 16 when Macy missed a jumper for the win.

I remember the 80-55 whipping in the Hall of Fame game in December 1988. We were decimated by all those problems we had and SI used the headline "Blue Devils vs. Devil Blue".

I remember the dread when I saw we were the two seed in their region in 92, then coming THIS close to beating them. Damn it, Pelphrey. To this day I wonder why he froze like that.

I remember the amazing 1998 game. Kept going back and forth between down 17 to down 10. Then suddenly Duke fell apart. One of my favorite wins ever.

I remember the 1999 game. All I remember about that game is Elton Brand killing us.

I remember the 2001 game. Phantom foul at the end saves Duke's ass. Again.

I remember the 2013 game. Cal calling them out for flopping at halftime. Then backing off after the game. Wanted him to stick with his assertion but I understand why he didn't.

I'll always remember last night. Tyler....Effing....Ulis.

I was 16. Though I was a UK fan from birth and have vague memories of the Sutton era, the Laettner shot was my first vivid memory of UK basketball. I remember wanting to beat them so badly in 98, and for a while it didn't look like it would happen. What a game!

I was 28. I remember it was a Sunday and we were at church, and we were taking shifts sneaking out to our cars to check the radio. Somebody came in and said we had just beaten Duke and we were all trying to keep from making noise during the service.

I was 20 at the time. Seems like so long ago, I actually can't believe it's been that long since we've beaten them. I guess all of those games against UNC over the years kind of throws you off a bit.

I still HATE Latner (cant spell ) he stomped timberlake, should have never been in the game at the end.We had singers that came to church, I found out they were duke fans I CHANGED CHURCHES

I was 32 and have now missed both wins. In 98, I was en route for an out of town business meeting on Monday morning. I had a short connection and saw the halftime score that UK was down big then got to my destination and found out the good news. Last night I was having a business dinner again on a business trip, thinking all along that UK played tonight. Not until my wife texted me during the game did I even know about it. Didn't make it back to hotel to see any of it. Luckily, she dvr'd it for me.

78 was the best - Goose skinned them alive for the title. [smoke]

Sat with my dad and watched that 1998 game. I was 8. And I was just a much of a die hard then as I am now. My dad and I both acted a fool every time turner touched the ball because e was smoking wojo. We recorded the game via VCR tape as well and I would play GI Joe and watch that video all day long. Wanna know something? K burned his last time out in that game and Orlando tubby smith out coached him in the second half. I had a colleague back in college once say you never see coach k get out coached. I cut him off and said oh but hell no. I watched tubby do it. I still watch that game sometimes. Very few things my dad and I have in common but that was definitely our thing together then and now.

And when we won the title that year my dad bought all the shirts and hats available locally and handed them out to all his employees and just random people we went to church with. He did pretty much the same thing in 2012.
