First line...SC -7.5

I always enjoy your posts (although we do not agree 100% of the time) for your unbiased neutrality on a view of UK vs. someone else in the SEC (other than UGA lol). I think it will be a close game, but I find it interesting the same people on here making excuses for UK last night are the same ones trying to degrade everything about SC's game and their team overall. I think it honestly depends on Spurrier. Will he just line up and run the ball, with a heavy dose of Cooper in the Wildcat? I do not think UK can stop it consistently enough, but if he does a Spurrier and keeps Mitch in there more than that and tries to throw us to death...UK could make some key stops. The first team to 42+ probably wins this one.

Thx, I try to be fair and honest, even about UGA. But I didn't get to see UK's game because my cable package doesn't include ESPNU, pretty dissapointing because I enjoy posting here so I can't really make a comment about what I saw. We looked good overall except for about a 6-7 minute stretch right before and right after half, when they were completing short passes for 4-6 yards a shot and hit about a 30 yarder for a TD. We stopped their run game, defense looked fast and aggressive, a little undersized but quick and fast which I like. Offensively we didn't do much, threw 3 passes over 20 yards and scored on all of them, all 3 were dead on the mark and didn't run a running play designed to run outside tackle. Extremely vanillia offense or we just aren't going to do much of anything this year. Played 19 frosh, 2-3 more would have played but game was called because of lightening with about 10 minutes to play. One of the frosh had a couple of catches, one blocked a punt, one made several tackles and quite a few had 1 tackle. I was surprised that many played, almost all of them except the OL. Big thing is we won fairly easy and had no injuries, SEC opener next week, hopefully we open the playbook a little and give us a little better idea what we are going to do. Only threw it 12 times yesterday, completed 8, no int and 3 tds, I was hoping to get a better look at the qb.

This game is easy to figure. If UK allows the run option and can't defend the edge, they lose. In the past UK has not had the players with the lateral quickness and the speed to do this and based on the ULL game they still don't. Which means UKs only hope is to score at will on USC so it's all on Towles to win or lose this game.

Thinking UK can go on the road in the SEC and win is hard to fathom until they actually prove they can.

I really want to win this game bad.

But you guys who think we win this one, help me out with these questions.

We took shots downfield every other play in the first half, other than Boom breaking that long run that was our offense. The second half ULL took that away and our offense sputtered and left our D on the field way too long.

Do you think those passes will be available against USC?

Or

Do you have faith Dawson will adjust the offense way better than the 2nd half?
He adjusted and they didn't execute.

Well, I hope we fix whatever it is this week.
Me too. To me last night's second half was more about effort and focus. ULL played harder and were more focused in the second half. Our guys were flat. Went through motions on a couple possessions and that was enough to swing the momentum. Football is a strange game. So many things go into it and things can snow ball quickly,
