First line...SC -7.5

Opened at -9. It could be a lot worse. Encouraging that it's moving TOWARDS a perennial non power.

Probably accurate. Felt we should have handled ULL a lot better but played well in the first half. If we can play a full game like the way we played the first half, I think we have a good shot to win at USCjr.

I think Kentucky wins it. USCjr. is a poor execution team offensively, and their defense is still woeful. They have a freshman QB playing his first SEC game, and he struggles throwing the football as it is. Breaking in a new running back, who does make some bad choices when it comes to picking gaps to run through. I can see a win here, and I've watched both teams play for a full game. Has nothing to do with how their opponents played, and everything to do with the decisions that the UK and USCjr. personnel make on the field.
Can't wait to get it kicked off.

Hate to say it but I would take SC and the points. Until we show something to get the bad taste of this past game out of my mouth, I wouldn't pick the Cats.

It will be a competitive game. We will have a shot. Just have to execute and put forth maximum effort.

That's a lot of points being given by a team that looked Thursday like they have some real challenges. On Friday, I felt like Cats could very well win straight up. But after last night, I have serious concerns for UK rush defense next Saturday. My UK-16 wager was the only game I lost out of 4, so I think I'll lay off this one.

It was the only game I lost out of 8, lucky on some of the other close games, but unfortunately it was my one sure thing bet. Everything was rosy at the half. Bet a lot more on that game, but still came out ahead, wish I had parlayed some but I probably would have had UK in all of them. I even won bets on UL and TU, although I really wanted to lose both those bets, lol.

Still have to bet on UK this weekend, wish they weren't on the road though.

Unless they change starters, Conner Mitch is a RS soph, 3rd year in the program, hasn't played until this year and didn't look real good throwing the ball. But he was good at pulling it down and running for first downs to keep drives going, I was hoping he would be a statue in the pocket. Their RB is a sr who has played behind Marcus Lattimore and Mike Davis and is pretty good back, big and fast, maybe not elite vision but he is capable of putting up some big numbers. Their defense wasn't great by any stretch, still aren't very good tacklers, but their DL is capable of making some plays especially the interior guys. NC returned 9 starters from a team that averaged 37 points last year and the gamecocks held them to 14, that's a pretty decent effort on their part.

It'll be competitive one way or the other. I don't think either team is good enough to win this game convincingly. I just hope the return of CJ Johnson helps our pass rush. Ryan Flannigan should also help our LBs be a little less bad if he's ready to go.

I think SCAR wins, though.

A reminder...ULL ran for 247 vs UK. SCAR ran for 250+ vs UNC. In the SEC if you can run, and 250 is very good, and play some D you can win.

heck, just bet UK straight up.[winking]

One of weirdest streaks on line this week: Kentucky has won 2nd game of season 17 straight years. UK visits South Carolina Saturday

We all act like ULL is chopped liver. They have won 9 games three years in a row, and have won 4 bowl games in a row. This was never the easiest of games to open The new CWS with. They also have a very good RB. They are a solid team.

We fell asleep at the wheel in the 2nd half but played well in the first half to make me think that if we find some consistency we'll be okay.

Plus, it's really hard to compare UNCs defense to UKs. I will say though - UNC lost that game Thurs nt, USC didn't win it.

I think last night was the best thing that could have happened to us. Team now realizes they have to show up and play hard for the entire game.

That's mainly because UK plays MAC or FCS opponents in the second week of the season. I guess that streak is about to end as I don't see UK winning this Saturday. In all honesty they have a better chance of ending the Florida streak but I don't see that happening either.

Final score, 41-17 usc wins

GTFO of here with that.

it should be said that last season, UNC had one of the worst defenses in all of college football. Easily the worst in the ACC, and what some would describe as some of the worst in defense ACC history. I can't help but feel like our defense is better than North Carolina's, plain and simple. It was last season, as much as some people here hate to find some kind of positives with our defense, last season it was light years ahead of UNC's.

You should see the surprise in my eyes, that you would post this. [eyeroll]
Step back from the ledge.

You sir are a moron. Complete and total.

Agree with TNTUK. For 59 minutes of the game against a very good team over the last four years, Kentucky dominated 40-10. The 9 minutes that ULL scored their 23 points included a McGinnis missed field goal and an interception that was a really bad throw. In the last 5 minutes Kentucky rose up and got a defensive stop that they would not have gotten in years past. Kentucky demonstrated they can pass and run for big plays.

Beating USC will not be easy, but Kentucky has a shot.

Says Bigbluediddy, yeah, I'm the moron here. Bigbluediddy is predicting a 24 point loss to USCjr., who we beat last year, and I'm the moron. [laughing]
I guess you didnt watch the same game as the rest of us last night, I was there, it was horrible. The defense sucks, complete and totally, and our qb is about average to mediocre at best. I really hope we win, but us only losing by 24 is putting it nicely. Last time we beat south carolina we turned around the next year and lost to them by around 50. Don't think spurrier wont be wanting revenge.

With 93 posts, I think you may be a troll.
No doubt about it. I sniffed him out a long time ago. This board is infested with them. Read all of his previous posts, and it's so obvious.

That is definitely weird for a team that has won 2 games in a season on multiple occasions during that stretch.

I always enjoy your posts (although we do not agree 100% of the time) for your unbiased neutrality on a view of UK vs. someone else in the SEC (other than UGA lol). I think it will be a close game, but I find it interesting the same people on here making excuses for UK last night are the same ones trying to degrade everything about SC's game and their team overall. I think it honestly depends on Spurrier. Will he just line up and run the ball, with a heavy dose of Cooper in the Wildcat? I do not think UK can stop it consistently enough, but if he does a Spurrier and keeps Mitch in there more than that and tries to throw us to death...UK could make some key stops. The first team to 42+ probably wins this one.

I really want to win this game bad.

But you guys who think we win this one, help me out with these questions.

We took shots downfield every other play in the first half, other than Boom breaking that long run that was our offense. The second half ULL took that away and our offense sputtered and left our D on the field way too long.

Do you think those passes will be available against USC?

Or

Do you have faith Dawson will adjust the offense way better than the 2nd half?

Forgot to add, Hatcher is out again, do we know the status of the other guys?

Hell that was 20 years ago, Bug cant remember that far. And I can say he's the furthest from a troll.
Maybe the guy he called a troll for only having 93 posts is the furthest from a troll. I really get annoyed with you high post bullies criticizing people because of the number of posts they have made.

Bug IS a bully.

Were you a troll when you made your 93rd post?
Post count really doesn't have anything to do with it. The Troll detector starts going off when you combine low post counts, with always posting negative stuff. Bigbluediddy fits that description perfectly. But, there are alot of troll's on here with high post counts as well.

Thanks for setting things straight, Grumpy!

A couple of things, however: our RB is a RS SR (five years in the program) and we held UNC to 13; zero in the second half.

It's not really about post count. Constant negative posts is what fishes them out. Also, it's not just negative posts, but the content therin. Most of the time, they only post when it's negative. Again, a clear indicator to me. Trolls(fans of other teams, mainly UofL fans) wouldn't dare post anything positive about UK. Therefore, it's easier to smell the rotten fish.

Sounds like you missed the first half, maybe you should set your alarm earlier next time.
