Peeking at our schedule and man, the first six weeks of our SEC schedule is OUCH.

Ranked UF at home 1/4
@UGA 1/7
@ possibly ranked MSU 1/11
Possibly ranked A&M at home 1/14
Ranked Bama at home 1/18
@Vandy 1/25 (no idea how they'll be this year, but that court...)
@ ranked UT 1/28
Possibly ranked Arkansas at home 2/1
@ possibly ranked Ole Miss 2/4
Home vs. USCjr 2/8
Ranked UT at home 2/11

Goodness...I'd like to see us come out of that meat grinder of a schedule with 2 or less losses, but that's going to be tough. Good thing is, everyone else has a similar schedule thanks to the power of the SEC this year. Wouldn't surprise me to see several teams battling for 1st place with 3-5 conference losses by mid-Feb.

That schedule is fine with me. Tennessee on the road we have every year but other than that I don't care about the rest.
we got all the ones we want ...at home.

Let's see how these ****ers deal with the Lamont Butler and Williams.

The strength of our team defense is Lamont Butler pressuring and Williams/Garrison defense. I like our chances especially at home.

We are going to go into March with one of if not the most battle tested and experienced team in the field. If iron sharpens iron, we should be a damn razor blade by tournament time.

We are gonna get worked in a few of these games, it's inevitable.. but so will Auburn, Alabama, etc. It's gonna be a blood bath and no one is coming out unscathed. So long as remain around .600 in conference play, I honestly think that's a win. Half the games we play could feasible be against ranked teams (if Vandy gets ranked).. and several will be top10 matches.

Edit: scratch that.. so far 10 of the 18 games are against ranked opponents and I could see that going to 12 or possibly 13. That's INSANE. If the SEC does well in the tournament, I think you could make the argument that this will be the best year a single conference has had.. and that's among some of those "great" ACC seasons 15 years ago and Big10 years as well.

Brutal slate this year, it is good for all of the SEC powers to keep piling up OOC good wins b/c the league schedule will be a grinder.

The entire SEC is going to kick the crap out of each other this season. By the time it's over there won't be much left for a title run from any team.

Thankfully, we are built for this type of schedule. Experienced men who have a high stamina level accrued over four to five years of basketball training. UK can simply run most teams into the floor and then stomp holes in their chests.

If Cal was here UK would set another record for most losses in a season, among a number of other nightmare records.

Winning the home games in conference this year is vital, because the road games will be tougher than they ever have been

This is why it’s so important to win all these games now that we can and get ranked as high as possible because we are gonna eat some losses. It would be nice to stay in the top 25 despite some losses.

We'd have lost to both Duke and WKU, guaranteed.

Then we'd walk into Clemson and take another L. Then get smacked by Gonzaga, UL, and maybe even OSU before having the floor wiped with our team in that 6 week SEC slate.
