Defense didn’t lose the game.

4 turnovers on our side of fhe field and dingles offensive facemask that negated browns run….thats what lost the game.

No one is getting fired. No one should be fired. It’s just a typical emotional response from those who can’t process their feelings rationally

After ALL of those mistakes you mentioned, this team STILL had an opportunity to WIN the game if our defense played to STOP the Clemson offense from gaining 18 yards on 2 plays.

So, the defense DID their part to lose this game ALSO. And that part was TOTALLY on the defensive coaches and Stoops. Turnovers and penalties happen. The coaches CHOSE to play SOFT on the 3rd and 18 play.

Yep, had the lead with under a minute, but we had to let the DB's give them a 12-15 yard cushion, while rushing three to save the game.

It's Stoops philosophy. If you don't believe me, look up the numbers. His entire mentality is to play to keep the game close and when he has a lead, he goes to a soft zone.

That 3rd and 18 conversion was his philosophy personified. Give up 16, make them go on 4th and 2, then hope they fail. They did not.

Yep. That being said it still was bad coaching. And we were only in the game because they were playing with 8-10 starter/contributor opt outs and we got 2 big play td’s in the fourth where they had busted coverages with nobody within 30 yards of receivers. Those two plays sort of covered up how pathetic the offense was yet again. They flashed that graphic up in the 4th just before the two busted plays and we only had 240 yards several minutes into the 4th before those misplays.
