Talked about losing last year after going 38-0.

Talked about all AP's buddies in the NBA and who he keeps up with...

Talked about being a unicorn in the UK system as a senior. Finebaum makes it sound like an impossible result.

ESPN reaching here with this personality.

Having Finebaum interview a basketball player is like having me interview an astro-physicist. First question: "So there sure are a lot of stars. What's up with that?" Second question: "Do you have a favorite star?" Third question: "Is the moon a star? Or is that the sun? I've heard one of those is actually a star. Is that true?"

In other words, he knows nothing about the topic, doesn't really care about it, and thus asks the most obvious, pointless questions.

Basketball talk hurts ratings on the show...so hard to blame him.

Finebaum has a huge football following. He's definitely an acquired taste. I find him much more bearable to listen to than I did long before, but I still don't really ever listen. His interview with Poythress would probably similar to Jones interviewing a 4 year Bama football player. Jus doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

The guy may be an SEC homer, but it's all about football. He rarely says anything good about UK. I get that when it comes to football, but jeez turning a 4 year guy who's graduated and working on his master's into something negative is a reach.

Yeah, his bread and butter are ignorant football fans from Alabama. They're the epitome of dumb callers and I say this as a fan of Kentucky that has heard the embarrassing call-in shows for decades.

"Heys ugh coach, yous gonna tweak that alley oop for the slam jam and switch to zone busters and gets us thes championships? And when is Bubby gonna play? Heard he be t earing it up in the practice."

Nobody can watch Finebaum without acknowledging that he is an Alabama football guy...game, set, match. That is what he is all about. I take it that they are bringing Matt Jones onto the show weekly now, which is an admission (in my opinion) that P-Town is terrible at roundball and they need SOMEBODY to talk something other than baloney to the ballers.

Exactly. And those dumb people turn the radio dial/channel when he talks b-ball too long. One segment a day is probably ok, but anymore than that and ratings tumble. Football is what it is all about in the SEC...I will say last year Finebaum jumped on the UK bandwagon in Jan, Feb and March with the 40-0 story...but I'm sure after UK did not close the deal he was like "this is why we do not talk b-ball on this show" or some smug ahole comment.
