We have more quality and experienced depth this year compared to last year. Will be able to withstand injuries a little more, except QB.Its Levis and “alot” of other studs playing for Kentucky.
I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility. Last year’s game was much closer than the score indicated. If we fall on the fumble that rolled for 10 yards & seemingly 10 seconds, that takes a TD off the board for UGA. And, if Wandale catches the TD pass that hit him right in the hands/numbers it’s a different game.
That was a 14 point swing in a 17 point loss. Not saying we would’ve won, had those plays gone our way. But, we would’ve been within a TD, IMO. On paper, I think this is UK’s deepest & most talented roster of my lifetime (I’m 49) & if the offense (passing game) & secondary improves as much as I think they can, we can play with ANYBODY. Seems like we usually play UGA pretty tough, too, & we’re due to pull one out.
It was 14-7 at the half. If we recover the fumble it’s possibly tied at 7. We had a chip shot FG blocked, too, when we were down 24-7. I agree that it never felt like UGA was in danger of losing. But, we left at least 10 points on the field & gave up a TD immediately after the fumble we didn’t recover. We had several other bad drops, too, that could’ve kept drives alive, or, even resulted in points. One in particular, Bates, I believe, dropped an easy ball around midfield that would’ve gone for big yardage if he had held on. I don’t think we would’ve won, regardless, but, I do think it would’ve been more like a 7-10 point game.I dunno, I thought we were pretty outclassed in that game. We played hard and it wasn't like the old days of 65-0 in the swamp, but I never really felt like Georgia was in danger of losing. I'll give you the fumble, but I'll also point out that we scored a TD with 2 seconds left, so the two kind of cancel each other out. In the end, it was a 17 point loss and that's what it felt like.

Ya that last long drive that ended in the last second touchdown looked fine but I’m not putting tons of stock in it. We were basically admitting defeat and taking our time with a drive that wouldn’t change the outcome. UGA was playing defense to prevent big plays that could actually give us a chance to get back in it with time. I know they might’ve been pissed about their defensive touchdown streak, but Kirby was probably fine with us just running out the clock.I dunno, I thought we were pretty outclassed in that game. I can go for that. (wink)For the love of god if y’all do beat us, please beat everyone else too.
Levis may be a 1st round draft choice, but the biggest key for this Kentucky team will be the defense. This year's defense is deeper and more talented than other Kentucky defenses I can remember. That is why we could potentially beat anyone including UGA. I will not predict it happening, but I would love for it to happen to shut up my neighbors. Its Levis and “alot” of other studs playing for Kentucky.
