Final: South Carolina 65 Tenn 59

Not to make excuses for our very poor showing at SC but let's be a bit more fair. SC beat Tennessee on the Vols home court tonight so the 4 point win was much more meaningful than you suggest.
And the game is meaningful for maybe a couple of reasons - none of which have anything to do with trying, by comparison, to suggest our loss at SC was "ok." It helps in the SEC standings, obviously. But couldn't it also help in regard to the SC loss being a Quad 1 loss now (although maybe it already was, I don't know)?

This seemed like more Tennessee playing poorly than South Carolina playing great. Apparently, Knecht is the only offensive option for UT.
I expect this is the beginning of a bad finish for the Vols season
No, I think both of your points are wrong. South Carolina is good and played well. Tennessee has options. Zeigler is good and so is their PF.

I agree that TN has other decent options on offense, but they sure don't seem to want to use them. Knecht looks like a ball-hog, but it appears to me like he's just doing what he's being told to do. And it also looks like in doing so, TN is wearing Knecht the heck out.

Agree that Knecht is a ball hog. Looks like a guy that has been told to shoot a lot. Will take the ship down with him I think.

I wonder if there might start to be some chemistry issues on TN.

Point being Vols kept it close. We didn’t. That win for them over us was never in doubt. Not a bad loss in terms of who it was too but bad intents of getting absolutely manhandled.
Bold statement considering we were within 4 before the roof fell in.

South Carolina beat UK by 21 beyond the arc and beat TN by 15 from long distance

They run you off the 3 pt line and they jack up a ton of open threes, drive and dish, or offensive rebound and kick it out

They are physical and defend too.

But there is a difference in getting beat on the road (top 10 this year winning less than 50% on road) and getting beat at home. You have to admit that

Whoops

South Carolina has an inflated record. They aren't doing anything of relevance on the road.

SC is gonna get slaughtered.

Road games are tough and they aren't as good as their record. Fully expect them to be a NIT team and lucky to win more than 20 games in regular season looking at rest of schedule.

Not excessive....UT will spank them.

Will Be a blowout .

No, Vegas made money on the juice like they always do. The outcome is irrelevant to them. All Vegas wants is equal action on both sides.

That's why the spread moves as money comes in on one side or the other. If one sportsbook has an unbalanced amount of money on one side, they just lay off the imbalance at another casino.
No sense in trying to explain this to people. They never understand how "vegas" works.

Where are all of the people wanting to fire Cal after we lost to South Carolina sayin how horrible this Quad 1 loss was?

Lol. I never saw 1 post saying to fire Cal after that. Why people choose to pick 1 game to back their argument is beyond me. Let's go back 3 or 4 years.

Welp, South Carolina will absolutely be ranked Monday. Unless they somehow poop the bed against Georgia this weekend.

How about just giving SC the credit they deserved...like some coach Earned Not Given! Give me some of that.

That’s what it’s come to at UK now basking in everyone else’s glory of them losing trying to make our losses look better…. Thanks Cal you’re definitely doing a number here in Lexington!

You HAVE to know that being at home, especially this season, carries SO MUCH weight.

You really expect UT at home and us on the road to be roughly the same spread?

If they came to Rupp and beat us by 17, you'd have a point. But that wasn't the case- we blast them in Rupp IMO.
We will see. I hope so. We can’t afford to lose another single game at home. Not after losing to UNCW at home.

If we don’t have a good game tonight, I’m concerned for the future.

Our game was within 4 for 80% of that game
The final 7/8 mins they took it to a different level and were making half court shots n shit. Beating UT on road is a bigger showing

SC loss ain't so bad now. Ok. I still cannot belieev those guys aren't ranked. I guess that'll change now. Jump wherever Kentucky is at, at least.... lol

I would just like for everyone that reads my post right here to look at how the Vols - SC ended. Knecht hit the deep three leaning in on the SC player, BUT DIDNT GET THE FOUL HE AND THE TEAM) WAS BEGGING FOR to make it a 4 point play.

If he were playing at Duke or Kansas, don't you think he would have gotten that call on their home court in either of those places ? Sure he would've. 4 point play to win the game headlines for ESPN baby ! For Tennessee ?!?!? not so much.

THAT is the difference between Kansas and Duke and how they get treated, and how every other team gets treated at home. It's not that home cooking doesn't occur. It's that THOSE 2 schools get it wayyyy more and over the top than anywhere else on a VERY consistent basis.

it's propped up the two programs for years.
