can someone explain why it is beneficial to leave the second lane positions open on the free throw lane when your team mate is shooting a reboundable foul shot? Last night the first time I noticed that we did it, UT rebounded went down the court with ease and with one pass got a lay up against us in a zone.
It seems there is nothing to be gained from this strategy (there we times when our players were standing just behind the circle for some reason). Granted it is not often that the shooting team gets a rebound but there is an art to it and a lot of practice.
