Why do they have to use Coke bottles? Are they different than the bottles for Pepsi, 7Up and other soft drinks?
lol, someone already answered for me, and he was dead on. No matter what kind of 2 liter bottle it is, it is a coke bottle. We go to the store for a coke and pie, when we might get a 7-up or any other type carbonated drink, in Georgia they are all cokes.

My first time in Ohio I order sweet tea, waitress looked at me and said, "honey you are too far north for sweet tea". I don't see how people drink it. My accent is so bad I had to point at a picture on a menu to order in some roadside diner, I might as well have been speaking Russian to her. So not only am I a Georgian, I am a country Georgian. Still live on a farm, still have a few cows, still do some hunting, still enjoy spring time when all the young ladies try to see who can wear the least in public. About as politically incorrect as they come.

who calls em soft drinks? ive always called them cokes whether they be pepsi, cocacola, drpepper or others!

also OP i played on a field turf field in college and i hated it, also played at PJCS my senior year and it sucked as well. hell on the ankles and knees. made your cleats extremely hot, the smell was gagging!
If this is the case, they did not properly maintain the field and did not add infill to keep the proper depth. There is no way that 1 3/4 inches of crushed rubber does not provide a soft surface. I have dealt with many of these fields over the years and if maintained properly, they are amazing on the legs and knees.
No question about it. We continually add infill to our field and groom it at least once a week. It's considerably more forgiving than dirt and at least as much as grass. Not sure how it would take more out of the athlete with the exception of the heat that is generated on sunny and hot days.

i like you. because i understand you.

I've played on astroturf, field turf, and grass. My preference to play would be
Field Turf >> Grass >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>concrete parking lot>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>astroturf.

Field turf is mushy compared to the others. Great for tackles and landings, but it did tire me out and slow people down more. It had more give to it than any other surface. Kinda like playing on a beach. It's not nearly as bad as sand, but the "give" tends to tire you out more and slow others down.

My kind of guy Grump . . . and I mean that in a country/southern and not a Seattle, San Fran way.
We pretty much did the same thing here. And by "pie" I assume you mean "Moon". You ought to try an Ale 8 with that sometime . . . Kentucky Stump Water!

"Field Turf" is like "Xerox". Astroturf makes a great infill product that I would put up against Field Turf's product any day of the week. There are a number of companies that make a great infill product:

Field Turf
Astroturf
Sprint Turf
UBU
Shaw Sportex

They are basically all the same. You can choose from monofilament and slit-film or a mix of the 2. In fact, almost all of them are made at the same manufacturing plant in Dalton, GA. Many of them also have a sand and crushed rubber mixed infill too that is nice. We did the sand/rubber mix on 2 of our fields and it's been great.
