At this point we should clarify some things about the portal. The guys going in now are players on teams where there has been a coaching change or graduate transfers. In some other cases there have been announcements that certain players plan to enter the transfer portal but that makes it a little tricky when it comes to reporting on who is of interest much less contacted.
There are many players of interest already but we will have to get to them at the proper time.
Although UK has offered Northwest Missouri State tight end transfer Zach Atkins to my knowledge things haven't moved forward too much. Right now it seems like other schools are more front and center. UK doesn't have a dire tight end situation next year but he has multiple years of eligibility and many believe he can thrive in a system where he is better used.
At first it seemed like that might have been a "best available" offer but it seems like UK is at least open to adding from the portal at the position.
