we have no shot at a #1 seed now. so it will be 9 years without a 1 seed. Duke, UNC, and Kansas .. none of them have been 4 years without a 1 seed dating back to the 80's (thats as far back as i checked.) no final four and it will be 9 years without a final four. Tubby was pressured into leaving after it was 10 years without one.

So celebrating a win in the game thread, and in other posts if you're referring to me. Crazy.

This team can make a final four. They can also lose to South Carolina bad.

They can't make a Final Four with the defense they've shown all year, or with the offense they had late at A&M or the whole game at Carolina.

The shooting and ball movement are (at times) vastly better than in recent seasons. But they aren't a Final Four team. Cal's brain is broken and his teams are broken because of it. They will find a way to fold in March.

I can't even begin to make it clear enough that I want to be wrong on all this. I'm a UK fan to the point of derangement at times. When we lose, I can't even watch the sport again until we win. A friend texted me last night about the Bama/Auburn game and I was like "I'm not watching that or any other basketball until Saturday."

I've just seen what we've all seen, over and over...and it's not just a pattern...it's set in stone. I truly don't think Calipari is capable of making a Final Four with any set of five players anymore.

I get the way you feel. I’m also a defense is king guy. I believe defense is the key to winning. But the way we beat UNC on a neutral site proves we can still win big.the way we played Kansas with literally zero big men proves we can still win big games. The tournament is mostly random anyways. You really don’t think this team can get to a final four but these little Cinderella teams can? Because the low seed mid majors make these incredible runs and it’s fairly common now.

I’d feel better about our chances if these kids could play defense for sure. But this team will need a friendly draw on selection Sunday. Gotta hope there are no rock fighting teams in our way.

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. I'm just talking out of emotion but being right is not particularly important to me. I may be disappointed in Cal's performance the last decade but nothing would make me happier than him closing his time here with a title or two. Heck I'll lead the parade if he does.
