I think Barnhart considered him a safe hire especially compared to Bobby Petrino who was available and probably would have taken the job, if offered and one that Barnhart would have never offered. I've said all along that the Stoops hire was questionable because of his lack of head coaching experience. For Barnhart, I'm sure his last name was a plus and would potentially deflect some criticism away from himself because of that family coaching tree, which is never a guarantee of anything.

Maybe but Scangarello is who was recommended by coen and others but if you look at his track record it’s awful. I didn’t know much of his history other than what was pumped by the staff and media. He was a 9rs guy. Go look at this guys resume he’s been everywhere. He seems like the kind of guy people like but he’s such a bad coach they constantly look to move him out but pumping him up. A year as oc in Denver with fangio. Man it’s some bad stuff
