Get beat at home by Vandy. When you make excuses for loses this is what you get. Like Stoops or not, most teams in the SEC would fire a coach who loses at home to Vandy especially how they have lost. No bad call beat UK today but the entire team lost with no sense of urgency. No motivation, That has happened a lot this year and in the past and the blame is this OC, this STC, this OL coach but if it isn’t obvious the Buck stops with the head coach then nothing will ever move UK up into the upper echelon of SEC football.

All true but you forgot those who made the decision to hire a guy only because his last name was Stoops. Just because his brother had success at OK isn't a good enough reason to hire him to run the UK program. Ten years in and he's proven he's not good enough. If the AD doesn't do something to fix it, he should retire.

He's the winningest coach ever at UK. There was a long stretch where we never went to a bowl game before Stoops. I'm not defending this terrible loss or season, but your post is wrong.

Barney thought he was getting Sylvester Stallone, but we got Frank Stallone.

Well, if you think my "opinion" is wrong, don't be surprised when you just get more of the same. Believe me, I would like to be wrong, and everything is just fine. It's my "opinion", after watching everything that you've watched over the last 10 years. You might "disagree", but to say my opinion is "wrong" ... is just wrong. You don't get to say what my opinion is or isn't ... it belongs to me. You just disagree with me ... and I don't any issue with that at all. I just want to take this program higher than where Stoops has taken it to this point. I think he has proven he's done all he can do, and his efforts are appreciated but he doesn't get coast down the road of mediocrity into his retirement years with type of stewardship. BBN deserves better. The players that come here deserve the very best coaches UK can make available to them. We just lost to an "always bad" Vanderbilt team ... at home, after 10 years under his direction. Do you really think things will get better? What color is the sky in your world? Just wondering.

I ageee with your perspective and opinion BluesBrother. I appreciate everything that Stoops has brought us. He’s taken us into places that we had not been in decades. But his margin of error has always been razor thin. Head scratching losses and and some fortunate come from behind wins over non-conference opponents. It is not just the loss. It is that to me, there doesn’t appear to be any adjustments to our game plans. We look the same week after week and series after series. Incredibly predictable. Stoops has recruited well. But his in game coaching decisions and overall philosophy lags behind. This is worse than mediocre. This is unacceptable to me.

Kiffin will have bigger and better opportunities to pick from.
Your right, but if you want to ever move up you gotta spend money like the big boys do and get something for it. I don’t have an issue with Stoops personally. He did a lot for this program BUT if he can’t take UK to the next level then it’s time to make coaching staff changes that will take us to the next level. I truely believe given the right coaching and several years of winning UK can compete at the top tier but it isn’t going to be a cheap journey to get there. After leaving UK football financially in life support forever they are going to have to spend big if they want that next level of play.

Getting to a bowl game got a lot easier in 2006 when the extra cupcake game was added. That pretty much gave you a 3-0 start to the season. Getting to ten wins is pretty great, but just going bowling got a lot easier after 2006. In the 80s and 90s the schedule only had one cupcake game a year. Kentucky had went to a bowl 5 out of 7 years prior to the Stoops hire, which kind of tells you how much easier it became to make a bowl.

Stoops has done well here but outside of last year his offense has been terrible..

Are you telling me my post is wrong?
No, I couldn't do that. I was telling you, that "you" telling me my post was wrong was, you trying to tell me that you "disagreed" with my post. There's a difference. I don't have a problem with you disagreeing but saying my post was "wrong" is ... silly. A person's opinion is neither right nor wrong ... it's just their opinion.

I never used the word opinion. You brought that into play.

If you had said the sun was blue, could I tell you the post is wrong?

I couldn't have said it better. I just want the program to see consistent growth without the backsliding. There's no imagination and creativity in anything he does. We just lost to Vanderbilt, at home and we're supposed to accept excuses after 10 years. I'm tired of excuses and they're about to ask all of us to "pony up" with NIL money. If they want more of my money, then I'm willing to listen once they've earned my respect.

My apologies if I misread your response to something I said. I thought you were "disagreeing" with me but phrased it as my post was "wrong". Maybe we're saying the same thing. Have a great evening.

Mitch should back door channel to Lane Kiffen and throw him a big check while there’s still some talent at UK to work with.
Guys. Wake up. Kiffin is sitting at 8-1 at Ole Miss. He ain't leaving there to take over at UK.

My goodness, we have some pie in the sky fans.

LMAO, Yeah, I'm sure he's just dying to come here...Man, where do you guys come up with this stuff? Why don't we just go after Kirby Smart? Nick Saban? dabo swinney? LMAO
LMAO quite presumptuous of you isn’t it ? Where did I indicate he would? I said if I was Mitch I would try which is quite a leap from if we offer he will come. I guess I should be more like you and cherry pick post to talk down to and be ok getting my ass kicked by Vandy.

Most of our fans don’t realize this, not to mention the SEC East has been way down (outside of UGA).

To let Candy beat you at home is just unbelievable. This Candy team is dead last in pass defense and we had 109 yards passing.

And what great coach wants to come to UK? NONE!
Totally wrong way to think about it. We probably can't go out and hire a great coach which would likely be a perceived step down in the coaching ranks. Every big-name coach in the land all started as a nobody. Do whatever it takes and find the nobodies who are looking for opportunity to excel. They build a winner and UK garners loyalty from them. A young, enthusiastic, innovative coach who thinks outside the box. Someone who would be fun to play for making the recruiting a bit easier in the beginning. The AD needs to take some chances and give the program a chance to succeed. The Stoops hire was perceived as a "safe" hire and easier for Barnhart to justify. Those don't usually work out. At best, Stoops is an assistant coach ... not the head man.

Agree with the major point of your post, except that Stoops was definitely not a safe hire. He had zero head coaching experience. That was a major risk that has mostly worked.
