I think that you are right. Jurrich was hired in 1997 when the birds were already on one probation. Shortly there after, they got another. Of course this is only basketball, I don't know about other sports. UL got a show cause on the Clint Hurtt deal and then basically gave the NCAA the finger by keeping him.

If I remember correctly, CM Newton was the reason he was hired at UL. He basically told UL administrators to hire him.

Sometimes it's not about sports programs but how the new president feels about the university and the affect the issues have had on the school. A new president may want to come in and start fresh in an attempt to show that academics outweighs sports issues espically the nature of the issues they are dealing with.

I'm agreeing with you 100%..I'm saying that their faithful could care less about what should be done because it's all about winning to them. They see no fault to anything or anybody from Jurich down so therefore they will unite and do everything they can to keep everybody but Ramsey. Ramsey is now the enemy to them because of the post season ban..

According to uofl fans they haven't been on probation, KY is the school that is always in trouble.

Well if you can handle going over to the Louisville Rivals board they honestly believe that this is over for them. They are convinced that this year is over and the NCAA will accept it and no more penalties will be handed down. I don't know how they can possible escape from this without losing there championship. I believe with everything in me it's fixing to get real bad for them.

You do know that all the problems in their Athletic Department are because of others Take your pick who is responsible Cal, WWW, Matt Jones, Katina, Mcgee, or someone with ties to UK. They are in complete denial. The denial starts at the top and works it's way down. IMO until you can own up to your wrong doings (don't blame others) you are always going to have problems. The first step is to take responsibility for your own problems, don't blame others when you mess up.

Your right. Their fans, players, coaches and program staff are all about getting those wins and the heck with what the university does or stands for.

But a new president will be coming there to oversee the entire university and regardless of the revenue sports programs produce they are a very, very small part of what goes on at any school.

There are probably less then a 1,000 athletes, coaches and administrative staff in the sports programs but there are 20,000 plus students and acdemic staff.

The president is there to run the university and not to kiss an ADs and coaches you know what. Espically when there are a lack of moral standards either personal or within the programs.

If a new president comes in before the NCAA is done and then the new guy is handed the final report and handed additional sanctions he may just decide to clean house and start over with people he trust.

So Jurich may not be so safe. The new president may not be able to do anything to Petrino but with his buddy gone he will get the message and move on.

Eventually they will all be gone.

I would be SHOCKED if all three are gone. Jurich, perhaps more than Pitino, as the people in that town are so in love with them, regardless of the dirt attached to both of them. If I were a betting man, I would bet that Ramsey is gone and the other two are protected in all of this. It's wrong, but that's what will happen IMO.

I would not be shocked either if Ramsey is the only one to go. Actually would be a little shocked if Pitino is also back but even still when our deal hit, if I recall correctly president, AD and coach all resigned which is why the NCAA was as lenient with us as they were. I use the word lenient very loosely as they sincerely considered cancelling basketball season for one year at UK before settling on the sanctions they did. And that was over $1000 to one recruit and a player who they deemed cheated on his ACT's.

That was at a time when the NCAA said they were going to become more serious in cracking down on "cheaters" and now we are in a time where the NCAA is mocked for never doing anything to those breaking the rules. Aside from the UNC stuff which is much greater in transgressions than the UofL stuff IMO this is as big of a scandal the NCAA has seen in some time. How they address it and the UNC stuff to follow could help determine the need for them in the future.

I have been banned from the UL board so I will post my solution for their problems with the NCAA here. Instead of just using 1 or 2 rooms in Minardi Hall to provide sex for players and recruits the entire dorm could be turned into a brothel. They could then offer free sex to the entire student body. Since all students would be treated equally it would no longer be an impermissible benefit.

Maybe this investigation is going to reveal things that nobody ever dreamed was going on at that corrupt institution. Perhaps the governor should step in, assuming he is not part of the problem.

Our AD at the time back in the 80's lost his job due to the scandal. When things like this happen some big heads tend to roll. I agree though, he should first fire the AD and coach. Whether they had anything to do with it or not, it happened on their watch.

If all of the hidden "truths" come out - there will be a complete housecleaning of several positions. The culture inside that university is absolutely terrible. Talk about entitlement, backstabbing, bending every rule possible (and then some) and general greediness - that's the one set of things the top people are really great at doing. It's a cesspool. I hope they get everything they have coming. So much embezzlement. So much money-grabbing going on. I have little to no respect for anyone at the highest levels of that place. Don't get me started about the salaries they pay people and the incestuous relationships that have gone on with the board and foundation for at least the last 15 years. Karma would be having everything come out - and have a thorough housecleaning. I doubt it happens - but it would be nice.
