Excellent insight from Eli Cox

But Eli comments do not align at all with Stoops comments

Eli speaks to not bring guys in that ain’t fitting the culture and growing up with Drake, Landon, Wolfe etc

Then Stoops says we have resources in place to fix via portal and in addition to high school kids

So which way is it. Feels were no closer to answer reading this

The way that I read it is someone recruited a bunch of lazy asses that don't want to work, or play hard, or just suck. Whoever scouted these kids messed up bad. Do they still have a job? Bet they do. This just reaffirms to me that there is some kind of disconnect \ discipline issue among the coaches.

And there is no more time. That ish is all used up. Other teams who have far less resources than UK build whole O-lines in a single year without much trouble.

I take Stoops comments to mean resources are in place NOW that weren't there before. We'll see.

To be honest, I'm somewhat disappointed in the lack of contribution from Drake Jackson. I understand he's just a GA so contribution likely would be minimal on the one hand, on the other he's been there like 3 years, would think his hard nose would've rubbed off on others by now.

Unfortunately, you can’t make someone something they don’t want to be.

At present the OL is so bad there's no choice but to bring in portal guys. We can't go into another season with one of the worst OL in the nation. Why do most teams bring in portal OL and have no problems? We are doing something wrong. More than likely, we will start 3 portal guys (both OT and C).

Like, was there much game film to scout BVG?

Imo they don't have the work ethics that stenburg, stallings, wolfe, young,Jackson, ect ect had. From the winter weight training thru spring practice, all the way to the actual game.

I think Drake will be a great coach, but he can’t over ride the actual coach. Im sure he’s had to just roll with a lot if things in order to get along.

He's saying what many here said: we're buying players and that isn't working. It isn't working anywhere else either. You basically have those nil guys calling all the shots.

The key to nil is to get the guys that want to be/stay there and give them competitive nil. If you outright buy guys, you get a bad product and zero culture which is the last few years.

The only way to turn this thing around is if guys want to go in the portal, let them. Don't pay guys like dingle and brown to stay just so they can drop balls that go for ints or randomly bobble the ball on otherwise kickoff return tds. Just keep recruiting at a level that you can replace them when they go.
