Foreword: If you were already halfway off the ledge over what is still a badass roster, even more so by pre Cal standards, then please don't let me stop you. Get to jumpin.

For the rest of us, Matty bangs and Daniels had a brief exchange on Twitter with the latter hinting that some people, including the Canadian reporter, might be jumping the gun a little bit.

Take with 2 lbs of salt, but the man doesn't usually just throw ish at the fan.

Edit: and the reason for no link is because I'm on a phone

We already saw the players tweet, so unless hes a complete liar, hes headed to Oregon.

He's going to Oregon and the reason is Isaiah Briscoe. Same with Malik Newman. We got our guy and I have no doubt Cal made the right choice. I feel very bad for Murray, very risky decision for his future.

Briscoe is not the reason. Cal wants both and tried like hell to get both. Problem for UK is they now only have 7 players capable of playing any minutes.

Phil Knight wants the Ducks Hoops program up to par where the Football program has propelled itself out of nowhere. Program could be on the rise, their Nike funded sport facilities are the best in the World.

Yeah in all honesty Briscoe may even be better than Murray. It wouldn't surprise me if Briscoe ended up with better stats and he is playing better opponents both non conference and in conference. They may even get a chance to play against each other in the tournament when UK is a two or three seed and Oregon is a six or seven.

Too bad for Murray that Oregon's coach and his player development/pro preparation is no where close to being the best in the World.

Just saying that practice competition don't really mean ish.. We talkin bout practice? Those kids will be playing stiff competition during the season. They'll get all the practice they need.. It's not the start, it's the finish..

Even when the tide was high for Murray to Kentucky I felt there was almost no chance, and said so on here, and can say why I believed that in three words: "Ulis and Briscoe." Cal has called this 'Ulis' team.' He and Briscoe and Murray all want the ball in their hands to create. Is there room for three guards on the court all of whom see themselves as primary creators? There aren't too many examples of that.

I'm not even sure you want to try it, though Cal knows a lot more than I do, and apparently he did. I keep coming back to the same question: What if you'd have added Brandon Knight to the line-up of Wall and Bledsoe. Would you have gotten the best from all three players, or would Knight have been relegated to the role Darius Miller played on that team of last option.

Practice will be very easy and non-competitive.

Compared to the ridiculous roster we had last year, yes. 99% of the teams in the country only have seven to eight guys who can really play and they are doing fine. We will have nine guys who are legit D1 level players. You don't have to be 10 deep to have productive practices. You're practice squads probably look like this:

Team 1
PG Ulis
SG Briscoe
SF Matthews
PF Poythress
C Skal

Team 2
PG Hawkins
SG EJ
SF Mulder
PF Willis
C Lee

Don't underestimate EJ as a practice player. He has good size at 6'4 and is a great athlete. I think he pushes Briscoe in a practice environment on the defensive side of the ball.

The lead squad is supposed to be much better than the reserve squad. You're good as long as it is not filled with three or four walkons and no size. Our B squad might actually be taller and just as quick and athletic as our A squad.

Matty Bangs? Please leave that garbage over on the UofL sites. Thanks.

You don't have to like the guy, but leave the lame insults to the group with the most experience using them.

If he goes to Oregon that's fine. They are stacked as well even more so than us as far as numbers goes. Somebody is going to be squeezed out over their.

I was wondering what some of you we're talking about but I remember I blocked a lot of people on here, I don't have to see the fake uk fans trash.

I love how people downplay that loss with the "we won 38 games" or "we lost one game" it was a the most horrible loss that I can remember
Nope..Duke 92 sucked much worse! No one down plays the loss they just don't obsess on it versus enjoying the incredible ride. Beside you live to be miserable just like your bromance with Joester

So we are supposed to consider the season a failure because we lost the last game? Dude, we've only won the title 8 times in like 1000 years or whatever. Taking the title or bust approach is setting yourself up for a miserable fandom. To be real....last year might have been just as fun as the 2012 title year for me. Having UK as the major story all season for an entire season was a blast. SportsCenter was pretty much a UK infomercial all year long. Watching rival fans wallow in misery all year long while the UK freight train stormed along was awesome. The guys were likeable, our coach was swaggy and our fanbase was loud and proud. Winning it all would have been the icing on the cake, but the ride was as good as it gets.

You're such a whiny loser.

How is this whinny? Its the truth, so deal with it punk b!! The players last year repeatedly said that a main reason they were getting better was from the intense practices. Thres a difference between going up against Dakari in practice, and going against Willis.

Are you 12? Because I go back 50 years of UK basketball and there have been some horrible losses during that time.

Yall are trippin. We'll get him. He's not retarded so he'll pick UK. Then it will end the embarrassment that's been recruiting this year. Its NOT ok if we miss out on a bunch of recruits. This is UK. We're like the spoiled rich kid who cries at Christmas for not getting enough stuff even though we got more than most others. We don't want good. We want the absolute best, and we'll settle for nothing less. Mediocrity is for losers. I cant stand some of the people on here who's like "Oh yeah, best of luck wherever he goes, Oh well we tried" When something happens like has happened this year with Newman, Zimmerman, Brown, etc we should be embarrassed, and pissed off enough to break s**t. We've took it in the ass all offseason, and that's gonna stop tomorrow. We aint gonna lose out on another one. Cal wont let it happen.
