Eric Crawford WDRB...CRUSHES UofL foundation/athletics scandal

McConnell is probably neck deep in it himself.
Wouldn't be surprised by this at all. He's the epitome of what's wrong with DC, and this is coming from a guy who is far more conservative than liberal.

I won't understand how the IRS or the state government can look at all of this and just assume all is well and things shouldn't change, but I learned long ago to never expect the government, whether it be federal, state, or, especially in this case, local, to use logic and common sense when making decisions.

UL is undoubtedly the most corrupt university in the country. But since they own the local media, police, and seemingly court system I won't expect much more than a chosen "fall-guy" or two to take the fall for this, and I'm sure they will be handsomely rewarded for their duty to the beloved university. LIC4 and all, right?

Mitch makes 200 grand a year as a senator, but his net worth is estimated at 17 million....those are his billionaire buddies and he ain't doing shat about da Ville.
.

Ignorance is bliss. Take out his wife's family money from that total and see what is left.

Marrying well is not a crime. Ask John Kerry.

lol no. He may have a rich/ wealthy wife and in laws but he absolutely makes more than 200 g's a year. He's one of the most corrupt politicians along with 98% of Washington politicians

You clearly charged that he used his Senate office and salary of 200K to amass a wealth of $17mil dollars. Did so in a thread about corruption at UofL. The TRUTH is that the millions of dollars that he has on his personal financial statement.....is his WIFE's from HER rich family. She is the daughter of a wealthy Taiwanese shipping magnate. Your fake news comment was meant to mislead. I am setting the record straight.

Matt Bevin tried to do something about this but Andy Beshear got in his way. Do the research.

How about a class action lawsuit by the donors to the UL Foundation? This is fraud on a massive scale. Imagine you're a big donor and now you get hit with an IRS audit because this Foundation loses its 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Imagine you thought you were helping city kids to get an education, not helping Tom Jurcih and his greedy ass family rake in more undeserved millions in salaries and helping Jim Ramsey buy a freaking golf course.

This is staggering corruption.

Do we know which course? Or was it Cardinal Club?

Yep. That is because his democrat father appointed a lot of those crooks in order to extract payoffs...in the way of campaign contributions. KY has the reputation for being one of the dirtiest state governments in nation...and that is because one party has raped the state like one university rapes itself with its appointees.

What amazes me is that you have this disgusting and absolutely obscene corruption at Louisville, where rich and powerful men are lining their pockets from the toil of college athletes. Meanwhile you have UNC shamelessly sinking tens of millions of dollars into lawyers for the sole purpose of dragging out their case with the NCAA and protecting the cash cow that is the men's basketball program - all while both schools continue to raise student tuition without blinking an eye.

And yet the thing that has been in the news most recently that everyone is so very worried about is the scant dozen or so OAD kids each year - kids who are for the most part are from very poor to middle class families and how these dozen or so kids are making a "travesty" of the academic integrity of colleges by using them as a springboard to earning millions in the NBA. The horror. Just sickening and sad.

Damn, well put.

Agreed 100%

The school is nearly bankrupt, the Yum Center is nearly bankrupt and you have the President and Athletic Director handing out cash to everyone connected to them.

I am DISGUSTED at the fact that UofL had the audacity to demand a bailout from the taxpayers of Kentucky!! What makes it worse is the state government is going to do it!!

RIDICULOUS!!:chairshot::chairshot::chairshot::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Jurich financial effect on Kentucky fans. Kind of like the state of Kentucky a communist state with him the thug ruler and nothing nobody can do about. We just frown and allow the government to bail him out while he sits back smiling like a king.

Sad. Nobody with the guts to go after these criminals. Felelbad for all those students and faculty members doing the right things and all these cheating immoral assholes in their million dollars homes siphoning off tax payer money and the Legislators and law enforcement look at their shoes.

If I was a student at UofL, I would be pissed especially about the mandatory athletics fee everyone must pay. So much for UofL's claim to have the most profitable athletic program. We now know that's a bunch of B.S. especially when a bunch of their expenses were being paid for by the foundation under the table.

If not for UK fans being FORCED to pay UofL's debts, I'd be reveling in their imminent downfall. But, NOOOOOOOO, the state of Kentucky and it's taxpayers are stuck with the bill for Jurich and Ramsey's spending spree.

It's SICKENING!!!![sick]

so whose to say that all the revenue that UL says they bring in isn't a lie?

I bet Jurich threw that number out there to pump his ego

I click on the lhl site couple of times a week and look at the headlines, and have never seen a word about the sh!tstorm in loservill.
Maybe there have been stories about it that i just didn't see. It's hard to believe that it wouldn't be front page news all over the state.
All ky tax payers deserve to be informed of the criminal crookedness going on there.

Umm, they are kinda his guys so he wouldn't do anything anyway.
What jurisdiction would an individual US Senator have over a State University? I understand you don't like him.
You do know Jim Ramsey was a career Frankfort Flunky for +20 years under multiple Democratic administrations and became President of UL while Patton was governor.

Don't confuse a hater with facts. People who are totally ignorant of simple civics do not understand the difference between the duties and authority of a US Senator (R) and those of the State of KY (D) leadership (Governor) who for decades appointed THEIR cronies into these positions throughout STATE govt. This was done in order to bring in campaign donations to the party and its candidates. Whether by cherry board appointments or construction projects, Ramsey was a product of the Democrat state apparatus.

Here is what the University has decided to do:

  • Ending the deferred compensation plan for future UofL executives
  • Prohibiting the University president from serving as Foundation president
  • Complying with Kentucky’s open records law and responding to open records requests in a timely manner
  • Updating the Foundation website with clear financial information
  • Establishing a line-item budget with actual expenses matching actual revenues
  • Implementing new policies regarding gift agreements to ensure donations are spent according to donors’ wishes and unspent funds don’t get mixed with endowment funds
  • Adopting new travel, entertainment and expense policies
  • Appointing 12 new ULF board members

Some of this is shocking in that obviously the above was not their practice. They were cooking the books....clearly.

I love it how the LilBrothel fans think it is a good thing that assistant AD Jurich Jr was being paid out of the Presidents office so as not to have a problem with state nepotism laws. They clearly do not grasp that this was done in order to hide the FACT of nepotism.

- Father is Tom Jurich AD
- Son is Mark Jurich Assistant AD

Who do these morons think he actually works for? Seriously? His pay is hidden on another set of books....so it looks like there is no Jurich the Junior on the athletics dept payroll. Wake up idiots. Its a BAD thing. A very bad thing. Skirting the law by playing games shows intent to defraud. This will be fun to watch.
