Probably needs to be in political thread. His calling out of China is admirable. His beef with Turkey is not so settled. Some say his political party is more out there than some. Turkey would be a good ally to have as they hate the Russians and China. Our current administration doesn't see it that way. Like the Saudi's, you sometimes need to pick the lesser of evils in that part of the world. Turkey is willing to do the heavy lifting.

It's been over 50 years ago, but I spent 2 years in Turkey. At the time, the Turks liked whoever they were making $ off of. Our officers club was bombed and a good friend was stabbed on the streets of Izmir because he was talking to a Turkish girl.
