That's all it was.

The guys wouldnt up for this game. You can blame it on Stoops all you want, and he does shoulder some of the blame.

But I just dont think it was emotionally possible for this team to get up again after the first 4 games. Every game has been down to the last minute. And they were on a high and you see a FCS school coming up...which is followed by a huge Thursday night game with Auburn.

They didnt wanna be there. To be honest....I was burnt out too. I'm a huge football fan and almost didnt tune into tonight.

I'm not trying to make excuses, but looked what happened at the end when UK got put into a position where it HAD to make plays. UK executed and won. And made it look rather easily.

Still gotta a lot of football left folks. Dont let the rupptards and UL fans bring you down.

Imagine if they'd played the first 7 minutes like they played the last 7 minutes.

And it might have been easier to do, since they would have been less tired.

And the fans wouldn't have minded a boring 4th quarter with a 2 or 3 touchdown lead.

I agree ; but think it even went deeper than that.. They overlooked eku. Didnt pay attention to the scouting report ect.. Were not mentally prepared as well..
We needed a B game tonight and we got a D- and stole a win..could be worse..
As bad as they looked tonihht ,they might look the opposite and look absolutely great in the auburn game!! Who knows:).. All I want this year is a bowl.and we are still on track.

looking forward to auburn?!

all i know is that we won, we are 4-1. and have a great shot at a good bowl! move...on!!!! lets take down auburn and be 5-1 with 3 wins over sec teams!! [smoke]

According to ESPN FPI last week, (it hasn't been updated yet) we should go 7-5. With a good shot to knock off Auburn.

Of course that doesnt mean anything. But looking at the schedule, I think only Georgia is out of reach for us.

Fans should be happy...

Factor in the way UGA and UF played today and who knows?
This UK still has a great shot at being special not just bowl eligible.

I think some of the "overlooking" was on the coaches as well. Stoops said Barker would see minutes. On his show earlier he referred to the game as an opportunity for some guys who don't play much to get some time on the field. So the coaches laid the seed. You don't say stuff like that unless you're expecting a blowout. EKU had nothing to lose and played like it. They also had the added motivation of playing in honor of their fallen teammate. Once they realized we weren't in it mentally they took it to us and started feeling like they could win. Give EKU credit. But I do somewhat agree that this ended up being more of a trap game than it should have.

Regardless, crisis averted. Let's just look at the 4th win in the column and forget about how we got it. Hopefully this game will be to the auburn game what Florida was to the Missouri game.

True, but I still attribute Georgia's loss as running into a Bama team that was firing on all cylinders. That team would have beat anyone in the country today. Georgia is still very very good. And UK will not win that game.

I'm still actually nervous about Auburn too. They still have tons of top tier talent.

You very well may be right. When I first read this thread - well, I thought it was very silly, but the more I thought about it, the more since it made. I am a male/Ky boy with experience in farming, mining, sports, hunting and defending my friends and family. I was trying to evaluate the team through my experiences and how I thought a mercenary group/ SEC football team should perform.

They may have been having a group emotional "bad hair day", they were dealing with temper tantrums, hurt feelings and who knows what else. What ever it was sure made me feel less confident about the whole group, coaches and all. At least I know not to call them if my cattle are out in the road or I figure out who stole my traps.
