The discussion on QB sacks by Coach Elliot was the best part of the program. QB sacks are one of the most misunderstood stats in football. I have heard numerous novice fans express things like player X "only got 2 sacks today". It's like they think if they don't sack the QB every 5th play that they are having an off night. As pointed out by Coach, 12 sacks in a season would get you All-SEC maybe all American recognition.
Hurries and knock-downs are just as important as sacks - just causing the QB to get off balance, or out of rhythm is enormous and we did a really good job of that last year.
