EKU getting a 5* DE.....

I read that he failed some drug tests (Ecstasy). Hope he is clean and ready to take advantage of his 2nd chance!

Doesn't have to sit out. Can play immediately for EKU (FCS) next season and then on to the NFL.

Hope he can rise above them and learn from his previous mistakes.

Hope the young man stays clean and does well for EKU...he should tear it up in the FCS and then go pro...would be great for the Colonels program...they won 9 games last season...so a play maker like this kid should really give them a good chance to have another really good year...

not a lot of distraction in Richmond Ky...all the students and athletes usually end up on UK's campus on the weekends to do what college kids do...

That last statement is interesting if true.

Looks like UK isn't the only thing Kentucky has to attract Ohio athletes. a good thing. Too bad he couldn't have chosen us and played.

Funny, I always wound up in Richmond on the weekends when I was at UK...

How did UofL let this happen? He had the prerequisite resume for admission there.

Don't know if it's still like this or not, but we often ended up going from Lexington to Richmond. Especially on Thursday nights. Family Dog and a few other bars in the area. And...atleast then...you could definitely get into trouble there. Richmond police didn't seem to have much tolarance for those things you speak of that college kids do. ;-)

The bars close at 1 now in Richmond. Everyone goes to Lexington anymore, unfortunately.

Unfortunate is correct. EKU/Richmond parties used to be epic.

I guess it depends on the season and what is going on...

Kentucky isn't a state with a lot of options for entertainment and activities for college aged people and young adults...you got 4th street in "Da Ville" and you got Lexington...

Higher profile home football games everyone is in Lexington...WKU, EKU, UL, some IU kids that are KY natives and their friends, etc...they all come to town...obviously we're not known for football greatness, but SEC football is...when a big boy is in town it can bring people from all over...

Basketball season...especially these days...folks come up just to watch at the restaurants and bars and be a part of the scene...

Late March early April...forget about it...everyone is in Lexington and a UK fan...neighborhoods and streets get closed down...the die hard rival fans will come to town n act a fool just to cause trouble, most will just temporarily trade in their colors and put on a uk hat though...

Lexington can also empty out like nothing you've seen and be a complete ghost town on weekends when the athletic events are away...I imagine those are the weekends when Richmond can fill up...had a lot of friends who liked to go west to bowling green and Nashville during the down times...

Richmond use to be where it was at, even for UK students, but that was in the late 90's. Pretty much none of those bars/clubs exist anymore. Couple good bars but it's not at all like it use to be. EKU cracked down hard on partying and the city went along with them.

Anybody else on here remember The Family Dog . You had to wait in line outside to get into that place sometimes .

Richmond on a Thursday night used to be like Mardi Gras.

Ah, the good ole days.

Remember those bars well, and yep, Richmond back in the day was an epic party town.

Phone 3 and The End zone

Any make out with Brucey? She was the hottest chick in Richmond.

The vast majority of the high school class I graduated with in the mid 90s ended up going to EKU and many flunked out in their first semester due to the serious party life that went on there at the time. I had no idea the town had become so neutered.

Marshall has followed this formula with great success. I would expect EKU to keep at it and keep winning because of it. I think the trick is to have a coach that can control a collection of guys on second chances to some degree...and to be right more than wrong in which ones really just need another shot vs those that will be problems no matter where they go.

Richmond was a Wild West environment when I was a kid in the 80's. Pretty sure I partied in Richmond as a HS senior using a ID someone handed me that stated I was 32 and about 4 inches shorter and 40 pounds heavier, balding, with specs. Lol... not quite that bad, but close.

The Family Dog for the disco
dead.r191677.gif
crowd, Poopiotski's (?) for the Bob Seger type crowd, and

Ma Kelly's for lunch. The greatest loss of all was losing good ole Ma Kelly's. A friend of mine and I figured out Ma's formula for charging for lunch. We'd were our farm jeans and get only 3 different foods in large amounts on our plate...$1.50.... The little frat boys came in all dolled up...she'd charge them a dollar more every time.
