Easily one of the five biggest regular season games in Kentucky history

Just the fact that the streak has reached 30 games with Florida makes it potentially gigantic for Kentucky.

Yet also consider:

A Kentucky win and the Cats are off to a 4-0 start and a 2-0 start in Conference play.

It would be no fluke start either because this team is full of Juniors and Seniors all recruited by Stoops and they are dam good.

My point being that the fast start could build momentum and be carried out to Kentuckys first SEC East title.

Hell it may be the biggest regular season game ever for Kentucky.

I sure would like to hear about regular season games bigger than this one...

Please keep in mind Kentucky is undefeated before saying 2007 LSU....

If Kentucky wins this game, it's one of the top games in history.

I'm jacked up Blueaz.
This is the biggest UK game in my lifetime and I'm soon to be 51.

I was born and raised in Kentucky, I'm a third generation Cat fan but have lived in Florida for too long. To be able to get a win over these rag a muffins down here would be beyond euphoric.
Like a spider monkey on Mountain Dew?

Btw. Just having a little levity about crp and those claiming last week was the biggest.

Givem Hell

His first year record was identical to Jokers last. With the assumption being that he is a much better coach, he couldn't even manage a 1 game improvement?
You're kidding right?? Stoops would've had Jokers players that year and I'd be surprised if ANY coach could've improved on what he did here his first year. What grade did you say you were in?? You OBVIOUSLY do not know football sir!!

Anyone who is a true fan will sit back and enjoy the ride. I thoroughly remember the days of being so close. As Tom Leach would call it, "The late hammer." This team has given us reason to be optimistic, we should embrace the momentum.

Winning the tight games. Always hoped for the best but expected the worst with UK football.....Not this cat fan....not this year.

I'm not suckered at all. I'm a UK fan of all their sports. Football. Basketball. Baseball. Etc. Therefore I relish success in all of the sports. You, on the other hand, prefer to tear down the current success of the football team and ridicule the fans. You are a bitter old man who isn't capable of tolerating the excitement of UK fans about the current football team.
Wow, I think I've found the greatest UK fan of all time. Give yourself a pat on the back. But if you could get over yourself for a minute, you'd see that I'm taking up for the football team. Why has the administration never laid out the cash for a proven head coach for the football program? They always go after the discount candidates. They would never try to hire an assistant or bring somebody out of retirement for the basketball program. The football team is always at a disadvantage.

[roll] You really are insufferable. Your history of texts does not not take up for the football team. But you keep on trucking from the nursing home computer. :pimp:

No doubt this is a big game. IMO, the outcome will be the determining factor when we look back years from now.
For me, the biggest were (in no order)
Penn State
Alabama 97
UL 97 Mumme's first game. Of all the games, it gave me a glimpse of what Ky Football could look like. I'll never for get it.
LSU when they were #1
LSU when Art Still beat them single handedly.
If we could beat Florida...it would certainly be considered a big win.
1951 sugar bowl doesn't make your list?

If Stoops ran "Air Raid" offense a lot of you would be calling him the next Bill Belichick, or at least the next Mike Leach - LOL
He's far from perfect - but how anyone without an agenda can be unhappy with his tenure at UK is beyond me. Just enjoy the ride

No dumbass, I'm a UK fan no matter who the coach is. I cheer for UK the same, before, during, and after Joker. You know, the man you hated so much that you cheered against UK. I'll be at the the game Saturday just as I have been every game since Guy Morris was the coach and I'll be at Werstern Michigan next week and the rest if the home games too. Don't ever compare me to bandwagon trash such as yourself.
Careful that you don't reply with the wrong account, catdance/Keyser.

Look dude, I still have my twin towers t shirt from the 1984 final four. I'm just tire of being grouped in with a bunch of newly found football fans who make the whole fan base look stupid. You don't make any points one way or the other. You sound like an air-headed cheerleader.

1. Your first post in this thread had NOTHING to do with the topic and was simply insulting people. It took away from the point of the post and also caused a bunch of back and forth.

2. I don't typically pay attention to who posts what messages. The only time I really look (for the most part) is if it's something that needs addressed. Here lately, your name has been popping up a LOT when I check to see who posts the messages.

3. If your posts continue to be degrading toward posters, and continues to have nothing to do with the topic (such as how you started out this thread), continues to cause "back and forths," then you won't last long.

To the other long time posters, you guys please stop name calling and respond with respect.

I used to publically reprimand on here and decided to do it quietly a while ago instead. But I am noticing a lot of this type of stuff going on, so just decided to do it like this for the first time in a while.

Thanks guys. Just trying to make the board more enjoyable for everybody. ;-)

I would say its the biggest forsure.

When LSU came in 2007, we did not expect to win. We had a chance, but it was gonna be a big disappointment if we lost.

I'd argue in recent history (turn 25 in March btw), the 2007 UofL game was the biggest. It was a game that setup our season and momentum for several year. It was a game we needed to takeover the state and end a streak to a rival that is on out level. I swear Stevie getting loose helped our rep in state and win back recruits in the area that went to UofL or out of state.

Florida in 2017 is the biggest. We are 2 point dogs, but we SHOULD and CAN win this game. This game will get us ranked for the first time in 10 years and set us up to be 6-0 probably. It ends an embarrassing losing streak that we need to get over. It will vault our recruiting up in ways that will pay dividends for years to come. It will guarantee that attendance will go back up to being a sellout for all the big games and you won't need a social medial campaign. It gives us staying power and reputation. It sets us up for a possible winning conference record for the first time in how long?

The Florida streak is the last "Th's so Kentucky Football" thing we have and I think this game changes everything about the program and we need to do it now.

It's definitely one of the biggest in my short lifetime. Winning this gives us a great chance at starting 6-0 heading into our bye week and finally get that streak off of our backs. It's also probably the closest the two rosters have been in a long time in terms of pure talent. It's big not only because of the implications of winning, but because this is probably the best chance we've had to beat Florida in years.

IMO, 2007 alone had 7 games I would rank ahead of this one (UL, USC, LSU, UF, MSU, UGA, UT).

Pop a viagra and maybe she won't run down the road.

In the midst of all this drama over who is posting what, I'd like to humbly submit that the most important regular season game in our history was November 25, 1950 against Tennessee. We went into that game 10-0 and ranked number three.
Tennessee was 9-1 and ranked number 7. Unfortunately, the storm of the century hit Knoxville the day before the game. There were six inches of snow on the ground, and game time temperature was 18 degrees.

Kentucky lost 8 fumbles and Tennessee won the game 7-0.

Yes, but we have to remember that there are likely dozens of double accounts, and fans of other programs who have years worth of trolling, who get perverse pleasure from popping in at just the right moment to throw shade, or worse.

Some folks lead odd and rather inexplicable lives.

This game is huge, it's one of the biggest but I wouldn't say it's THE biggest ever though. Some of the UK historians on here have mentioned a couple that were before my time that could take the spot. Last years Georgia game was a big one, we would've been in great position to take the East with a win. Florida in 07 was another huge game with championship implications.

I badly want this miserable streak to end but I'm just not going into this one acting like it's the Super Bowl or anything. We're only 3 games into the season, still a lot of football left to be played. We could very well lose this one and still achieve our ultimate goal (an SEC championship). Hopefully the biggest game ever comes a little later in the season after we beat the Gators. And I think we will.

We should have a mod check the ip address and if I'm catdance I will get a lifetime ban, if I'm not, you get a lifetime ban. It should settle this quickly without any arguments. Surely you'll agree to that since you were so comfortable saying I have another account.

You taking the bet or not? I know you're a bandwagon fan but are you a coward in every aspect of your life? You took a shot then ran and hid, step up, you're the one who made the allegations.

So, I guess you agree that a game which means almost nothing is one of the top 5 in our history? We have an abysmal history, but I didn't realize it was that bad.

Who said it means nothing? Conference game, divisional game, traditional power, big for recruiting (we recruit florida a lot just like everyone else), chance for program's first national ranking in ten years, chance to solidify spot in bowl pecking order, chance to be an odds-on favorite to win division (or at least we'd be right there with UGA)...hard to think of many more games that have meant MORE.

Not to say you are lying, or even put a dog in such an ignorant argument, but you do know how simple it would be to change an IP address, or log in from varying IP's, correct? For instance, if you were using a VPN connection they wouldn't even be able to track you to a single IP address.

No I don't know how easy any of that is, I just know I post from the same phone or laptop 100% of the time and if a clown is gonna try to call me out he should be able to back it up with something.

As far as the original question, I would say that is probably the case. As far as just waiting on a game and knowing it was going to be huge, I would say two games in 2007 are up there, Louisville and Tennessee. Might could throw in Florida that year also with Gameday coming to campus. The Georgia game last year feels like a notch below these but it was similar. Can't really think of any other games (my experiences go back to mid 80's) that matched those games in '07 until now.

What an anonymous person says on a message board really bothers you that bad? If so, you might want to step back from the keyboard and monitor for a bit.

Man, I've read your posts for a long time, and have usually agreed. This new generation of UK fans are mindless millennials. There is no real sense of reality with these people, and the mods on this site are mostly of the same ilk. Just sit back and let them make their selves look stupid.
[roll]The irony is rich old man.

Bothered you enough for you to get involved even though it had nothing to do with you. Weird. Maybe you're the one who needs to step back.
I'm not the one having a meltdown on a message board. I was just offering you a tip, but by all means, let them troll the hell out of you and the rest of us will sit back and enjoy your meltdown over a message board post. Sounds like such a joyous and involved life.

Meltdown? Really? Again you're awfully upset and using the hyperbole of meltdown when you don't have a dog in the fight. Its still weird that I'm attacked, I respond to the attack, and that upsets you people. LOL at your manufactured outrage and continued involvement in this. You might want to quit responding because someone may accuse you of melting down.

Yea, you're right! You totally win............

Still upset. The question is why are you and your brand new account so upset about something that doesn't involve you? Hmm?
:joy: Yea, I created this account back in February and made over 300 post since just so I could troll you now. Yet, I've never once said I disagreed with you, hahahahahaha, Lmao, paranoid much?

Whoa, you shouldn't be bothered by what an anonymous person says on a message board. If so, you might want to step back from the keyboard and monitor for a bit. So agreeing with you means I'm bothered and melting down, lmao.. you're a riot man. Keep going I'm having a great time with you.

You realize you're on a message board with completely anyonymous people, trying to assert dominance and control over other people via a keyboard, right? This is how you've spent your day and evening, arguing with multiple strangers on a message board trying to convince them they are the problem. How emasculated are you in your everyday life? Jesus, I feel sorry for you.

I actually posted here to say that this is a big game but not close to one of the biggest in UK history. I was called a UK hater and someone suggested that I had another account. I said a mod could check the ip address. I wasnt trying to convince anyone that they were the problem, I simply gave my opinion on the subject, then defended myself when I was attacked. Then you got involved for some reason. Im not sure sure how giving my opinion then defending myself from an attack is trying to assert dominance and control, I guess that's what you need to say to fuel your fake outrage.

Maybe stop worrying about how I spent my day and look at how you spent your day. You continue to argue with me, a complete stranger on a message board, over something that has nothing to do with you, how pathetic is that?

If you aren't a UK hater then why be bothered if someone you don't even know says you are? Laugh about it's ignorance and move on. You weren't trying to convince anyone of anything, but you literally called out a mod to check your IP address so you could convince everyone you aren't using multiple usernames. Seems a bit contradicting there, you think? Not to mention you don't even really seem to understand ip addresses, but that's beside the point. How were you attacked? You're on a message board, this isn't real life. No reason to play victim and feel assaulted because of words from anonymous strangers. No one is "coming at you." Do you need a safe place? You've called people names, tried insulting their intelligence and value by calling them trash. You've tried to assert control and dominance by insinuating that your post count somehow made you more significant and important here. That, plus your amount of time spent here clearly indicates that this messages board holds extreme importance in your life. As you've already been unable to deny, you've spent your day and night arguing with multiple people trying, miserably I might add, to defend yourself. When you post on a public message board it tends to be public content, thus making it everyone's business. You know, if you spent a little less time arguing and defending yourself here, you might actually be able to spend some time learning new things, for instance, how this whole Internet, message board and IP address thing works.

You clearly didn't watch the games. We were actually competitive in most games stoops first year completely devoid of talent or depth. The 2-10 year under Joker the year before was the worst I have ever seen and that is saying A LOT for a longtime UK football fan. We got destroyed by Vandy and every other team we played.

Probably not in school history, but here lately, it is a huge deal. If Kentucky can find a way to win and end the streak, it can only help recruiting. To start the season 4-0 and 2-0 in SEC play, the biggest thing being it will have our players thinking this program has turned the corner and actually legit. When your players go into SEC play with the mindset we belong and should win, it can't explain how big that is. Some fans thought they might never see the day.
