Dylan Ennis to Oregon

Agreed. The fact he's not playing AAU ball also speaks volumes to me. Dude's doing work to get his reclassification finalized. I'm not buying for a second that he's chilling up in Canada doing drill work and working on his game without playing AAU ball. Big ol false.

Agreed. All the signs point to him reclassifying, but those who don't want him to end up at UK are trying to spin it otherwise.

My guess is that he'll visit sometime in June and commit shortly thereafter giving us the best back court in the country hands down.

I'm guessing a Murray commitment would vault us to the #1 class and may sway voters to put UK as the preseason #1 team. We wouldn't be loaded in the front court, but we'd be talented there, but our bread and butter would be our guard play which would be phenomenal. I'd imagine Cal would start Ulis, Briscoe, and Murray together with Poy and Skal. Thats an AMAZING starting lineup and one that can really get up and down the floor.

The 2015 rankings are done, so I don't know how the "gurus" would react to Murray reclassifying and signing with UK. But who cares about that? As I used to say when Billy Donovan was signing all those great classes, there are no banners for recruiting.

It would be nice to get Murray but I don't strive to be ranked # 1 by the press or coaches. I have seen the latest and we are ranked # 4 and may be to high even now. We have a few months to see our complete roster. GBB

I agree. Granted, I haven't even watched a Youtube on Vick, but seems to me we already have two guys better on the wing in Mulder/Matthews and a class full of bigtimers at the wing in '16. Murray or bust, IMO.

Nobody seems to be talking about how getting both Vick and Murray would give us SEVEN guards. I really just do not see that happening. One or the other, IMO.

Yeah, let someone else be #1. I'm fine with top 10 or maybe top 5 to start....then earn our keep as the season goes on.

I agree, we are not signing both, and I do not think anyone expects that.

I think most expect our 3 starting guards to play about 30 each, with the two bench guys playing the other 30 available at the 1, 2, and 3 positions. Hawkins does not even factor in for me unless something drastic has changed.

Murray is no doubt a star but it sounds like he won't decide until the last minute.I wonder if Vick will wait that long?It would be a shame if we wait and then end up with neither.

Cal did say he'd like 3 guys at the beginning of this recruiting season. Would you really mind if he picked up Mulder, Vick AND Murray?

I don't think anyone would mind more depth, but I doubt anyone thinks we need 7 guards. I would much prefer Murray and a big, even if that big is basically just a practice player next year.

Papagiannis is still out there. He's the only name I heard UK throw around besides Izundu (which it seems like is headed elsewhere). I think Vick and Murray could play the "3" in a three guard line-up. You're right though, that would make the backcourt awful crowded.

My life experience tells me that when someone has two paths in life, one more aggressive and one more safe, every day he avoids the decision to take the aggressive path, the safe path becomes a bit more inevitable in his mind.

Except the aggressive path in this case may involve more work to get himself reclassified, thus we haven't heard much from him for the past three weeks.

Selling point for me is the fact that he hasn't played any AAU during the period where it would be forbidden if he reclassifies. That strongly suggests he is reclassifiying, or at least trying to. I will be hella pissed though if he reclassifies and still goes elsewhere.

As others have mentioned, this smells like a reclassify + UConn commit.

I'm happy to eat as much crow as I can fit into my gut if he reclassifies and commits to UK.

That's a lot of crow.

Has he even visited UCONN?

How does it smell like UConn? Haven't heard that one. Just that he picked up an offer to them. What else is there?

I have no idea. But does that really matter with this class?

Ollie- "I'm great friends with KD. UK is old news, btw"

Murray - "..............where is the LOI and do you have a pen I can borrow?"

His actions. He backed out of his team's trip to Lexington. Okay, there may have been good reasons for that. But that was more than two weeks ago. To me, if he was still excited about the prospect of re-classifying and serious about maybe playing for Kentucky, he'd be eager to get a visit here to see how it felt.

Hope I'm wrong. I'm generally upbeat about next year. But this has never felt plausible to me.

Considering how this spring has gone, may not be a bad way to look at it.

I hope those of you laboring to construct the wall of plausibility around the notion of Murray to Kentucky will be proven prophetic. That will be about as happily surprised as I have been about a recruitment since Terrence Jones reversed course and came to Kentucky. And it will make up for allowing myself to be duped for about an hour or so last week on Jaylen Brown.

You really that pessimistic about it? Doesn't seem nearly as tenuous as Brown, DIallo, or Ingram. Seems to be a lot of pessimism about this lately, which I guess is understandable given the last month, but for some reason I am more optimistic about this than I was any of the other guys we missed on.

So, do we know who he has official offers from yet? I'm guessing Oregon, UK and UConn for sure. Duke seems to be out of the picture with Thornton committing.

After the Brown fiasco, I am firmly in the camp of approaching the season expecting to see the roster we currently have. Adding Murray or anyone else will be a pleasant surprise.

Why does anybody feel we have a legitimate chance, if Murray really wants to play point guard. We have 2 starting point guards, and even if it didn't matter to him not to play point, we already have 5 guards to fight with for playing time.

Pretty sure Cal knows better if we have a legitimate chance, or he wouldn't be going after him. Someone made the point that Murray will be a 2 in the NBA. Ulis, Briscoe and Murray can pretty much all play and rotate the 1 and 2 spots. If we play 3 guards, they will get all the PT they need.

His pops has said that they will likely wait and see until the end of the school year. I'm not sure how what's presently happening is a deviation from that plan.

That said, I expect him to reclassify - at which point, he will likely take recruiting trips in the summer. This is exactly what his father has already stated.

Because the NBA doesn't care about position titles, but rather, what a player can actually add to a team. Murray is a scorer, but he happens to be a legit ball-handler with great size and awareness. The NBA won't care if he's actually bringing the ball up the court or not. They'll want to see what he does once he gets it.

Looks like we might be running a 3 guard offense this season and that should help with all the potential guards we might end up with. I think it would be a very entertaining team that will play fast "paste". I like not worrying about having the 2nd largest team in all of basketball and having a more athletic and quicker team. This team could end up being a cross between the 2010 team (2 point guards starting) and the 2012 team (potential Anthony Davis type center). They might not end up as good as either or they could win it all. They could end up like the 2011 and 2014 teams and start slow, but come on late to take us to the Final Four. I think this will be a fun team to watch.
