During UKs 3 gm winning streak and the insertion of DW to starter

All 3 teams had lost atleast 7 games. Pump those brakes. We have not beaten a good team yet. Kansas will be the real Willis test. Does he go 0-4 from 3 or does he go 3-6 from 3? Does he get 10 rebounds or 4? We shall find out what Willis really is after this next game.

Just stating facts. 22 points is our margin of victory in the last 3 games with Willis starting.

at KU will be more than a test...it may very well be the toughest game UK plays all yr...including the FF games if the Cats make it so if UK doesn't win you still cant say the Cats are not going to win it all because the games in the Dance are on neutral courts and until you get to at least the Elite Eight the games are not v top 5 teams (not that I think KU is a legit top 5 because they most definitely are not and this will be proven on Sat nite.)

Carry on.

UK is playing very well. Against crap competition, in what amounts to a 1 week period of time.

The real test starts now.

While you are calling for the pumping of brakes, just remember that we lost to Auburn. By any measure, Auburn should have been a cupcake victory. Willis' contribution isn't simply scoring points, it is also assisting the team with good starts that prevents opponents from believing that they can win. Prior to this winning streak, we were allowing bad teams to keep games close which gave them confidence that they could possibly win.

Ark at home is anything but bad. Vandy has been beat up thru many of their losses but was healthy when we played them. Ark is capable of beating anyone at home and worse Ark teams have given us hell down there. It was the first time Cal has won down there just ask 5th ranked AnM last night. Not only was Vandy healthy even injured nobody has handled them so easily this season.

Willis has been a factor to be sure, but other things have happened as well.Ark and Vandy are decent teams, maybe we caught both on a bad night or maybe we caused them to have a bad night. We began to get points from people other than Murray and Ulis, granted one of those people was Willis but Skal,AP and Briscoe had games where they became factors on offense.

KU at home will be a whole different animal, we get a gauge to see where we are and how much we have changed as a team.As some have said in this thread Willis will get a test but so will Skal and Briscoe to see if they can bring what we need at this level in a tough environment

With Willis' newfound success, Kansas is not likely to underestimate him Saturday.
His numbers may not be as good, but his presence and ability to spread the floor should help unclog the middle.
Derek doesn't have to be the leading scorer for this team to be successful.
His other contributions help make everyone else successful...

Willis makes a difference. However, he has to continue to play defense and make hustle plays.

The difference is his dedication to rebounding more than anything. Every team needs somebody they know is going to go out there and get 8-10 rebounds a game. We didn't have that until Willis got more PT.

Also, he spreads teams out and makes it easier for our guards to get to the lane and make plays.

Vandy and Missouri were not great wins because neither is that good. Vandy has a guy or two that may make the league but they are a shell of the team everyone thought.

However, don't forget Arkansas just beat a Top 5 team and the "best" team in the SEC at home. Where we manhandled them. That win in itself was not huge, but the way we did was a very bold statement. Especially after last night when they beat A&M
