You Tube. There are a lot of old UK games on You Tube and if you are young and want a good feel of UK history you can watch some classic games.

I watched UK vs. UL in 1986 at Freedom Hall last night. A freshman Rex Chapman hit them up for 26 points and UK literally ran UL out of their own gym. UL had Pervis Ellison and Kenny Payne and they were schooled by UK's 3 guard offense. Cats won by more than 25.

This game also showed the entire world what the 3 point shot was going to do to college basketball. A young Brent Musberger (?) and Billy Packer were in awe of UK's shooting.

I recall that '86 game well. If you're too young to remember, you just can't understand how exciting that was. UofL was in the midst of an incredible 10-year run and was in the conversation for program of the decade. Rex was the hometown hero. He went into Freedom Hall on national TV and just took over the game. That was back when freshmen did NOT play a big part in most teams' rotations.

After that game, Eddie Sutton was a hero, as was Rex. Eddie also showed up to the press conference intoxicated, belched audibly on the radio. Hugged Rex, and called him his son.

Soon after? Rex goes pro. Sutton leaves in disgrace. Etc., etc.

UL was defending National Champion and was suppose to have the best front court in college basketball with Kenny Payne, Herb Crook and Pervis Ellison. They left with their head hanging beneath their tail. Even Rob Locke dunked on these guys that day. It was classic and one of the best regular season games in UK v UL history.

I was at that game. Soon after, the phrase "Little Brother" became common. Eddie Sutton started it.
You were probably on TV. They showed the UK crowd of about 150 people which was their allotment. Of course we know a lot of UK fans get in other ways. That had to be a great game to witness in person. The UL crowd looked stunned when UK started raining down the 3's. Remember Denny Crum was dead set against the 3 point shot and didn't encourage his team to take it.
