Rumor has it that Dr. J could stand out of bounds under the basket jump out and dunk a basketball.I say rumor because I don't think there is any video footage of this dunk. They asked Jordan if he could do it and he replied that he wouldn't even try it.

Point trying to make is I wonder with Diallo's vertical he just posted and his wing span if he could successfully attempt the Dr's baseline dunk.

Is there any footage around of the first(and maybe only)NBA vs ABA all star game? I watched it in college, I think,Dr. J jumped over a guy near the foul line all the way to the basket and dunked the ball.

Doc was who MJ wanted to be when he grew up. Far too little film of Doc exists as he spent most of his prime years in the ABA. It is worth watching what film does exist though. Even after the merger when he was with the Sixers he was amazing. Some of the things I saw him do on the limited TV coverage of the time were almost unbelievable. I have no doubt he could have done that.

If it can be done with a bball, Doc could do it. IMO, he is the best bball player that has ever played and will never be equaled.

he can still dunk at 63 years old.

There are several Doctor J. mix tapes on youtube. The thing with Doc was, you could pick most any game he played and pick out a top ten plays which were better than most other NBA players of the times whole career. Not just his dunking but his body control and ability to adjust in the air. He is my second favorite player of all time. #1 of course has to go to Wilt. That man changed basketball.

Not Doc but another of those "old ABA" starts who were also stars in the NBA, to few (in my opinion) know about. George "The Iceman" Gervin and his legendary finger roll. He was also a very fun player to watch.
