Duke's Marshall Plumlee joining the Army

Good to see. There are still plenty of great young people in this country. It's a shame that the knuckleheads who are in the minority seem to get all the publicity.

.

Way to go Marshall. Salute.

Nice! There have been 22 Plumlee's (give or take) in Duke's program over the last few years.

Finally, one I like!

(even though I'm former Air Force)

Yes, even though he is a floppin' Dukie... I offer respect and appreciation for his upcoming service to the Country.

It said that the 7 footer was granted a waiver because he is 4 inches above the Army's maximum height requirement. I wonder if he will get a non-combative assignment like David Robinson got in the Navy. Not sure a 7 footer can fit into a tank or APC, or for that matter, a foxhole! Congrats anyway, Marshall and thank you for your service!

Very cool story. Thanks Marshall!

really cool to see the board supporting young Mr Plumlee , my daughter serves in the Army and the support is really appreciated . thanks big guy .

Congratulations to Marshall. Too many graduates don't see the big picture. Seems to me he has his priorities straight, whether is USA, USN, USAF or USCG. I applaud him. I was at WP when MK was there and chair thrower was honing his skills. Those teams played as teams...emphasis on teams. Marshall will quickly learn he is part of a team, if he didn't already know. Best of luck to Marshall. May God keep watch over him and his comrades, bringing them home safe from wherever their quest takes them.
GO CATS.

To "catntn" ...

When you were at WP, did you know a Cadet named Lewis James -- WP Class of '66 -- from Franklin, KY?
