I know Michigan St. won and I watched the end, but honestly I was so drunk and pissed in Panama City Beach I don't remember much about it. Who played good for Michigan St. in that game?

3 of the 7 players that even played in the game aren't even on the team anymore.

Winston and Tillman were by far our best players in that game, as should be the case in most games this year. We were in the danger zone down 9 points in the first half with about 5 minutes left until Winston started to take over, scoring 9 points and dishing 2 assists to take a 4 point lead into halftime. Without that spurt from him to close the half, I don't think we would have beaten Duke.

McQuaid and Goins both made some huge plays in clutch moments as they did all year, but both those guys are gone. Both of those guys morphed into very solid 3 and D type players and will be sorely missed. Great leaders too.

Didn't get much from Henry, but he had a very solid tournament overall.

Only played 7 guys which is very uncharacteristic for a Tom Izzo team but we were short-handed and needed our best guys to play 38+ minutes if we were going to win.

If Mich St. wins tomorrow it will prob be because we can't handle Tillman.

Tillman is really good defensively. On offense, he's not a guy that's going to torch you or anything. He tends to "manufacture" points. A tip in here, a putback there, runs the floor well and scores a lot in transition, really hard to keep off the glass. He's not a a very smooth low post scorer. Not a guy you can reliably dump the ball down to and let him go to work, though he's adequate in that area. Also not really a guy you need to worry about stretching out and hitting 3s. If you leave him wide open he might make one or two, but for the most part, that's not his game.

You know who didn't play well in that game? Javin DeLaurier (Who got dunked on three times)

Rebounding and putbacks could kill UK tomorrow. Tillman doesn't need to shoot outside of 2 feet. Lets just hope Montgomery shows up when the games count for real!

this msu team does not strike me as very deep. 7 guys...

The Duke box score doesn't mean much for tomorrow. MSU will definitely play more than 7 guys against UK. I expect Winston/Tillman/Henry/Ahrens/Brown/Watts/Hall/Kithier/Bingham/Loyer to all get SOME amount of meaningful minutes tomorrow. Perhaps Marble too.

Watts is a guy I think we need to get some contributions from to win this game, but he looked real shaky in our exhibition. But maybe he's one of those guys that needs a big time opponent in primetime to get motivated to play well. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

most those guys suck though...

No way 11 guys get meaningful minutes. Cmon now. Would be great for UK. I hope it happens, but no way it does.

That's what Izzo does in November for better or worse. He runs hockey line changes to see what he's got. Irritates a lot of fans but we try to remember it's for the best in the long run.

Izzo will play 10 guys tonight.

however, without Langford...Brown, Hall and Ahrens are the only subs I’m confident in. Bingham and Marble (our bench bigs) are very likely not ready for a game like this.

Eventually Hall will likely start at the 4 for us and Kithier becomes the frontcourt sub.

Well all those sucky guys are 3 point favorites right now, so you're kinda dissing your own team more.

still think they dont suck? again there is a difference between playing guys and guys that can play. MSU has a lot of guys that play.
