Duke hasn’t …

I don't think we were ever in it. These kids (imo) don't care about school choice anymore, it's who can give the most NIL. NIL money carries the school name with the best of the best players. I doubt our freshman are killing it with NIL, but that could go up depending on how long they stay

To me NIL ruined the game
It absolutely did ruin the game. I can't be the only UK fan who wonders how much longer we're going to have this sport.

NIL has ruined the game but the biggest impact it has had is to spread talent among more teams. Now that it is legal to buy players, it is a auction rather than recruiting. If Duke , Arkansas , and Louisville really want Ament and the almighty dollar is a factor, all three schools would have unlimited funds for their NIL to buy the kid. How many freshmen are worth two million or more for one year of playing for any school? Flagg is not your typical freshman and he is by far the best freshman in college this year. Ament is NOT on the same level as Flagg. Who ever gets Ament, including us, will be disappointed at year end next year in his contribution.

He needs a good recruiting win. Not saying it’s the end of the world or anything but this will continue to raise questions about his ability to recruit high talent.
He’s gotten a few already with Jasper, Lewis and Moreno. I’d rather see him successfully recruit in the portal (rumors are that he is) and kick ass there and worry less about these AAU babies.
Where’s Rutgers and their 2nd overall class with Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper going to be seeded? They’re not.
IMO Ament isn’t going to be swayed by tradition, a coach, by relationships or campus/facility amenities. He’s clearly a bottom line, cold hard cash, pay me kid. Pope, or any single coach has less to do with signing this player than the person writing the check. Times are changing.

I'm still going to disagree with that slightly. Kids still want to play for a coach that can advance their stock (hence why Cal still pulls in big names)..

But yeah, as far as tradition or school? That doesn't mean Richard anymore.

With a gimpy Flagg and the Angel Reese clone being out combined with a mid offense? I don't think so. I see this being a Lehigh year.
I see them making the S16 at least. There are decent teams all throughout CBB BUT Duke is good. They did beat Auburn, which is something only a handful of teams can claim.

SEC better do damn well in this tourney for all the hell this conference has been.

Are you serious, duke is dang good top 10 team without flag
Four posts, all pro dUKe/acc since October? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes, I am serious and I don’t think that they are. We’ll see though, that’s why they play the games.

They did beat Auburn, at home with Flagg going for 22/11. If they played 10 times dUKe might win 2. They haven’t been tested during their conference schedule compared to how Auburn has run the SEC gauntlet. The teams now IMO aren't comparable to where they were in early December.

Who gives a shit about excuses? I don’t ever want a player to be hurt but there is no way I hope Flagg is back for them.
His parents are more worried about Duke winning than their sons injuries. I heard THAT on ESPN, so it has to be true.
