Fixed it for you, not the first time they had 3 top 10 picks without making it to the title game.
2 of their 3 appear to be "manager-level" players though.
One and done freshman are not the way to go
I think I saw before last night that it was 60-56 UK so it should be 60-59 now.
Regardless I expect them to catch and pass us soon.

They’ve made the final four 2 of the last 3 years. They get to hang banners to ff and acc champs. We haven’t had any final four banners in 10 years. We’ve had talent for days and nada. I hate duke but we should keep our yaps shut until we get back to hanging banners. Old farmer once told me. “How are my crops going to grow if I’m out there looking and concerned with my neighbors”. We need to pay attention to this program and unless we receive winnng titles we have nothing to say.

We are criticizing Duke for making another F4, lol. I'm glad they didn't win the title but going to F4's are a big deal. Getting One Seeds are a big deal. We've won three NCAAT games the past five years. They won four this year alone.
Start winning more and hang some banners then we can trash talk again.
Its amazing what happened when nike started backing them. That dates back to the K days when he started coaching usa.
One could argue that Cals downfall here started with his fued with Nike.
Pope is trying to get us back to that point he won 2 games in the tournament this year I really think he set this coming roster up for final 4 and beyond this coming year. It's a process of trying to build our program back to where it's not a one and done factory and he did that with the players he added to the roster this upcoming year. Cal had sunk us with his last 5 years.
At least Scheyer is smart enough not to crow about 'the best day in Duke history - 3 top 10 draft choices!' unlike certain other imbeciles I could mention.

I understand that. I’m just not concerned with duke or any other program. Scheyer their most recent coach has seen relatively high success imo. Cal was a God to many when he was getting bounced in the elite 8 with multiple top 10s making ff etc before winning a title. Scheyer success is similar. I’m very happy duke didn’t win it but we have a lot of work to do. And unlike scheyer pope has to work much harder. After gifting duke 2 titles in seasons we were by far the best team one knocking on the all time greatest door we shouldn’t pay a lick of attention to duke. Cal did that. That 2015 team is when cal took an uppercut and was dazed after that. One jab after another after that is what knocked him out. Duke winning those titles we have to live with that sting so it makes sense some relish in duke not winning ncaa titles
The one thing I’ll say is if you’re stacked with freshmen top 10 picks elite 8 is the floor and it’s likely you will make a final four. So you’re giving yourself a very good chance. Of course you need role players and upperclassmen sprinkled in to win it all.
That and WWW switching his interest to the nba instead of “influencing “ kids on their college decisions.
Things are definitely going to change. Mark Pope proved that last year when he immediately took down all the NBA bullsh*t that was plastered all over every wall that our players walked by.
It should always be "UK first", if you do that, you will get to the NBA if you're good enough. Losing in the first round, does nothing to showcase your talent.
K's Nipple going 4th makes no sense to me. I would take Fears or Johnson either one over him. I don't think he has the speed or athleticism to be a top 4 pick. I mean if they want a 3 point shooter who is slow and unathletic Kobe Brea says hello. 🤣
Same. I kept hearing this year's draft was a HUGE improvement over last year and frickin' Yawn Nipple goes 4th overall? Huh? He might be a usable role player/bench flopper at some point but taking him high lottery is insane

Agreed! It gives you a chance every year. Of course the field is going to have the better odds against one incredibly talented freshman team. But it’s not like their fans aren’t enjoying their success. They’ll likely win again with freshman at some point.
However I like the fact that we aren’t doing that anymore. Granted I’d love 2-3 top freshman every year. Just not 6-8 of them . Primarily vets with some sprinkled in nba freshman talent . I like those odds at winning it all more than primarily freshmen

Houston says hello. One top 10 NBA pick in last 5 years (Walker). 160-24 (88%) during that time with 2 S16, 2 EE and a Final Four. Top 15 class in 23 was their highest rated class, averaged 27th in the country last 5 years.

exactly right. Cal had the one-and-done market pretty much to himself, then K said, I don't like this - Kentucky as been to 4 final fours in 5 years. And suddenly, Kobe, LeBron, Phil Knight and USA Basketball were pushing players to Duke. Winning with freshmen is hard enough as it is (although thru 2015 Calipari was doing it at a historic rate). But when you're splitting the top recruits with another school - and that other school gets first dibs, it's not a winning strategy anymore.
I think his feud with Knight started after Nike started pushing kids to Duke. Chicken, then egg.

I’m as much of a dUKe fan as you are a Lyon County 5 princess. Any Cat fan would trade the last three years for theirs. You can hate them and still acknowledge their success. That’s not mutually exclusive.
Agree. Also, top freshmen draft picks (regardless of whether #1, #2, etc.) don't generally equate with being the best (i.e., biggest impact on winning) players in college; and what they later develop into is irrelevant to the point. I enjoy gouging Duke at every opportunity as much as any UK fan, but saying Duke (or Calipari) should have won a championship because they had NBA draft picks is illogical in my opinion - IFTHOSE PICKS WERE FRESHMEN rather than guys like Walter Clayton, Jr., for example. The bigger criticism in my opinion is the decision of a top tier program to try to build a team capable chasing a title with one-and-done freshmen when they obviously don't have to construct their rosters that way.
