Now that the talk of 40-0 is off the table for both Gonzaga and Duke, that’s one less storyline we have to worry about. Just need both those teams to lose in the NCAA.
The team I fear is Purdue. Still don’t want to see Duke again either though.

I honestly thought the NCAA would make sure K got his 40-0 departing gift.

Purdue looks incredible. If UK doesn’t win the championship, I could take a team like that winning. I also really like Matt Painter.
Agreed. They have everybody from last season. Continuity and experience. Great combo to have
Plus, if Purdue wins the Title, IU fans heads will explode.

Tell me this championship isn't wide open. It will come down to who is playing the best end of year and a good measure of luck.
I didn't think all the refs would bend over and kiss K's ass. Let's hope we get decent refs in the NCAAT. I personally would like to play Duke again and be the ones to take them out. To be the best, you have to beat the best, although it remains to be seen whether Duke will be the 1 or 2 team in the country in March.

Except having trouble just holding onto the ball and shooting 50% from the FT line. Dook's shooting is suspect.
Hell yeah! I took OSU in this one! I need to start betting these games. Would probably never win any picks once I did that, though. Did OSU go zone? That is THE recipe to beat them IMO.
yeah but guys on here were telling us after the duke game there was no way to stop Keels, and that Banchero was just hitting crazy shots for no reason. So that cant be why OSU won....

EXACTLY! Their shooting is very suspect, outside of Banchero. Everyone else is mediocre at best shooting the ball. For the life of me, I don’t understand why in the hell we didn’t go to a zone. We suck at zone, he’s already said he can’t teach it, every time we have played it we get a couple stops but it constantly breaks down. I agree it would be nice to have in the bag but I don’t see him devoting any time to teaching it. Even if we have to hire a zone specialist, it would help learning to attack it because we always have trouble attacking a zone on offense too.
In close games being able to surprise teams and " steal" couple possessions is huge .. we dont have to zone for 8-9 minutes but a couple key stops in close games means the difference between a W and a L. Its a tool , we need to use it when necessary , but Cal .................

Whelp. I’ll gladly eat some crow this morning. Because I did not see that happening. Especially not to the team that had to have a last second shot to beat AKRON.
March has come early and I’ll gladly take it. it’s going to be a year where no one wants the No. 1 spot because you won’t keep it long it seems. There was another year like that where several teams became No 1 and then like immediately lost a game it was wild.

When Duke loses it makes me feel like the world became just a little bit better. I'd like to be at every Duke loss just to bathe in the aura of their defeat. If I were a billionaire I'd buy enough authentic Krzyzewski tears to fill a hot tub then relax in them with a glass of Mouton Rothschild.
a lot of us i’m sure would take a rematch at the end of the year. you can bet it’d have to be in the ff though.
Why dont we replace trying to get IU on our schedule with trying to the Purdue on our schedule. Would be a fun home and home series or Indy/Louisville location series.

Wait, what?! Cal said he couldn’t coach a zone?’ That’s crazy to me. That’s the first defense kids are taught to play in grade school. We desperately need to get someone to Lexington that knows how to teach a zone then.
A road loss to another power 5 school in my opinion is never really an upset. Home teams are used to the goals, rims, lights, floor, background, plus crowd momentum. I always think home court is a 10-15 pt advantage. The true measurement for teams is a neutral floor.
Defeating Coach K in his last game would be glorious . In 1975 we had a chance to do that with UCLA's John Wooden but the refs were out in full force that night.
The team that beats Duke in the NCAA will have to battle both Duke and his refs. That is a fact of life.
They always seem to, but they also have an elite guard in Ivey - he’s unlike anybody they’ve had recently that I can recall. That kid is unbelievable.

The comment was directed at those Duke fear mongers after the beat Gonzaga. Like ESPN, they seemed to be ready to concede the season on the spot. Well bullshit.
