Duke fans waiting on indoor golf…

Anyone watching the Duke game? I was watching final two minutes of first half but with no sound. Knueppel got a pick at the top of the key from Flagg, he drove and tried to hit Flagg back on top for a three but just threw the ball out of bounds. Ball to Duke on the sideline? What happened there? How did Duke get ball? Was there foul called? And if so, why? Doesn’t make sense to me as I don’t think there was anything but an error by Dukie?

It's at Duke.

I do not think duke can match teams like Alabama on natural court given a fair whistle

But.. Duke will always get favorable whistle

Bama or Auburn either one would beat the brakes off Duke outside of Cameron. We would beat them also if we were healthy. I could honestly see Duke losing to a team like Missouri or Mississippi State. Their conference is just making them mentally weak.

Right now it just seems like a narrative has been being pushed that Duke & Flagg are going to be national champions. Can't wait to see their bracket this year.

Duke = Kansas City Chiefs

I wish Duke could lose 10 times a day. It still would not be enough to satisfy me!

I think Scheyer is making a mistake. He runs everything through Flagg. Flagg is even bringing the ball up the court now.
In the tournament, they're going to run into a long athletic team that takes Flagg out of the game. If/when that happens, duke will he cooked.

Again, can not imagine the celing of this duke team if it is coached by pope.

Scheyer coach ability is bad

If they end up paired in the tournament with a long athletic team like Auburn or Alabama that can stop Flagg and they are toast.

I think there are a lot of teams that would do it. Houston, Iowa State, Tennessee, Florida and of course the 2 you mentioned.

The teams that really focus on defense (Houston and UT) would be a nightmare for Duke. They would smother Flagg and make someone else beat them and since Scheyer spent the entire season running everything through Flagg, I'm not sure how that would pan out for duke.

Yeah the ACC is terrible this year. That's not going to make Duke battle tested for the tournament.
For comparisons sake....
Per Ken-Pom, in 2015 the 2nd best SEC team was Arkansas (29th), Florida 3rd (34th) Georgia 4th (35th)
Per Ken-Pom, in 2025 the 2nd best ACC team is Louisville (25th), Clemson 3rd (27th) UNC 4th (38th)

Now with that said, the 2025 ACC has some all-time bad teams (Miami, BC) that are no better than an average mid-major team.
Miss St and Missouri in 2015 were at that level though, coming in at #159 and #192 in Ken-Pom.

I can't recall, but were people saying the terrible SEC schedule in 2015 would hurt UK come tournament time?? I don't believe that was the case.

The 2015 UK team might have been affected by the relatively low level of competition in the SEC that year. By not losing a single game during the regular season, they entered the NCAA tournament with immense pressure to maintain perfection. This pressure seemed to build as the tournament progressed, making them increasingly anxious about the possibility of losing. Instead of playing freely, they appeared burdened by their undefeated record, which ultimately could have impacted their performance when it mattered most.

If that UK team had played in a stronger conference and lost a few games during the regular season, their mindset in the tournament might have been better, and it could have helped address potential weaknesses. Perhaps the outcome would have been different.

As someone who enjoys golf, that indoor golf league is just plain awful. I'll bet it will die off soon.

Those were rankings for that year (2015), you would have to do a study on how strong the top 30 was that year and somehow determine if the top 30 in 2025 is stronger, or weaker than the top 30 in 2015.
Louisville might rank 25th this year, but would they have bern the 25th best team in 2015?

Flagg will shoot an NCAAT record 50 free throws if a team tries to body him up. It won’t be allowed!

To beat Duke you are going to have to let Flagg get his 40 and shut down the rest of their team. It will satisfy the requirement of making Flagg look like the best player ever and then blame can be placed on Scheyer or someone else.
