DraftExpress drops Bam out of first round

Cal talked about Bam being able to hit shots in practice, even stepping out from 3. He's got insane athleticism and if he can hit shots in a workout he will move up quickly

I am not a GM and I am 100% biased...but do we really see these guys going ahead of Bam?

- Zach Collins - Gonzaga
- Terrance Ferguson - hopped overseas
- Justin Patton - Creighton
- Anigbogu - UCLA
- Donovan Mitchell - UL
- Harry Giles - Duke
- Tyler London - Cuse
- Not to mention the 3-5 foreign guys that average less than 5 pts a game

I still think Bam goes in low 20's based upon what I see from a man size body and athletic skill set he has.

Collins yes
Ferguson diff position
Patton yes
Anigbogu- questionable strength shot blocking like a Biyombo
Mitchell diff position
Giles- more upside, prob not but may bc of name
London stretch 4 NBA has went to those- Ryan Anderson?

What would be a strength of Bam as of today. Something he's above the field on.

Shooting, Rebounding, Shot blocking, long wingspan (?) maybe, maybe lateral quickness, good passer, aggressive finisher (finishes around rim..

His strength is his body. But. He didn't play as big as he looked IMO.

This is a toss up to me. Fans should encourage him to come back & not just instantly write him off.

Zack Collins has been a lottery projection since January. He's miles ahead of Bam. Patton is a similar project, but he's probably got a more true center game and is a better defensive player.

It just takes one GM in the first round to say "if you fall to our pick, we guarantee to select you." The relationships with past UK selections start to weigh in. Cal knows who he can trust. Connections certainly play a role.

We do this every year. I used to join in and swear that, so and so, is going to come back, but it just doesn't happen.

I stopped torturing myself years ago. The lockout year was great, getting TJ and Lamb back was sweet but, besides the Harrison twins, was there anyone else that came back under these circumstances? Ulis? But Tyler didn't get to truly showcase his skills during the 14/15 season and he was 5' 8" so he had to have a big year to take the leap.

But Bam, that guy has an NBA body and athleticism that is off the charts. An NBA team will teach him how to play as an NBA 4, he'd waste his time coming back to UK.

It would blow my mind if I was wrong here, but I just don't see him coming back, this is one and done U guys.

I think the teams see an unfinished product they can improve. So basically, potential.

His vertical for his size is off the charts! Top 10 all time in the NBA. He didn't play small he played young. He picked up his rebounding last 15 games to over 10 a game. He can guard the pick and roll and will be a beast in the pick and roll offense with the ability to leap over almost everybody. He was double teamed from the get go.

Yeah, but he was a wide receiver in High School. Betcha didn't know that.
To me though, Bam has an NBA body, WCS didn't. Bam is also better skilled offensively than WCS ever was, WCS was a defensive specialist.
But still, good call, he is a good example. I just don't see Bam ing back. I hope to be wrong though.
