DraftExpress drops Bam out of first round

Some of the names going ahead of Bam in that mock draft just make you scratch your head.

You would have to think Bam slipping to the 2nd round makes him seriously consider coming back.

Only if one were to base his decision on mock drafts.

Even if he bases it off feedback from scouts and GMs. I have to think if he starts getting feedback that he is a late 1st, but more likely early 2nd round pick, then he comes back.

Everything could change once he gets to the combine, for better or worse. And maybe one team gives him a super-secret promise to pick him in the 1st round. So who knows.

Absurd. You don't think a playoff team at the end of the first round wouldn't take a guy like Bam with potential? Daniel Orton went first round for pete sake.

Teams send out false signals all the time. It can be good for one player and bad for another. Players rise and players fall. If you are on the fringe, you are at the mercy of the system. They can always say a player dropped that they had rated higher.

The biggest problem he faces is he has a center's game while not quite center sized. He should be a PF in the NBA but the PF position is evolving into a hybrid PF/SF type, or the classic stretch 4.

While Bam would fine guarding bigs on the perimeter, he would have trouble offensively unless he was near the basket.

Players above Bam
Markkanen has the NBA 4 skill set
Isaac, smooth shooting stroke with proper shot rotation, good from midrange and can extend to the three point line
Allen is true center, yet played PF for Texas
Collins, possesses a very nice shooting stroke with the form to extend his range to the NBA 3 point line ... Showed the ability to knock down the college three, having hit 10/21 on the season (47.6%)
Swannigan, above in some mocks, below in others, simply rebounds the ball and clears out space.

What hurts Bam is the lack of any real outside shooting.

Different draft, different prospects
Orton was kinda hid at UK in a way because of better bigs... Bam was on the floor a lot more

Bam is a perfect prospect that could benefit another year... and move into the lottery unquestionably

I am not a GM and I am 100% biased...but do we really see these guys going ahead of Bam?

- Zach Collins - Gonzaga
- Terrance Ferguson - hopped overseas
- Justin Patton - Creighton
- Anigbogu - UCLA
- Donovan Mitchell - UL
- Harry Giles - Duke
- Tyler London - Cuse
- Not to mention the 3-5 foreign guys that average less than 5 pts a game

I still think Bam goes in low 20's based upon what I see from a man size body and athletic skill set he has.

I would think if Bam were to come back and we get Bamba, SKJ or Wynyard will probably choose to leave. What do you guys think?

Collins and Patton probably. Giles is a toss up, but I would not draft him in the third round because of his injury history.

Bam prob has better range than he showed in college, but unless he shoots extremely well in the combine and workouts the random foreign guys will jump him. Bam is a super athlete but it was baffling how he was not a good rim protector.
