You can watch but they all take Illinois and say we can't beat them at any spot except maybe 5 with Amari. Supposedly stop Oweh and its over. No mention of Carr at all.

I usually can't stand these guys, Duster is on his knees 247 for UCONN, depending on who's on most hate Kentucky. Goodman been better but says he's taking Illinois, so F marbles like the old days.

Just like we like it boys it's us against the world. They don't know the death star is back up and running. Underwood next target.

It’s not an unreasonable position. Illinois is a team whose talent is plainly better than their record suggests (they’ll definitely have the game’s two best NBA prospects in Jakucionis and Riley) and would’ve been a higher seed if injuries hadn’t been derailed them for much of the season.

And Illinois is finally fully healthy again, whereas we’re still battling injuries, without Robinson and our point guard is playing hurt.

I obviously hope they’re wrong, but it’s logically easy to see why folks have Illinois as the favorite in this one.

They have all been on us all year but we are hurt man. It’s reality that we probably won’t win this one. Dauster said the other day if we made it past this game he could see us in the Elite 8 though. Only reason Goodman is done with us is because of Butler’s health which is fair.

Field of 68 are a bunch of dorks who no one likes so they banded together. Pure opinion too, just listen VSIN where they only care about stats and production.

Everyone talks about their injuries. I look at their games played stats. Their rotation player that missed the most games was 5 and that’s their backup big.

Jak missed 2, Ivisic 3, and White 3. Maybe folks are blaming the injuries due to their short rotation and maybe more impact? But their top 8 missing a combined 13 games is pretty silly to bring up injuries imo.

No discredit to Illinois a very talented team.

They have a great show and have given Pope and UK a ton of credit this year. Just because they didn’t pick us to win doesn’t make your weird attacks valid.

My comment has nothing to do with whoever they pick but rather how purely opinion based sports media doesn’t do it for me any more.

I like the Illinois guy they got on there he usually just speaks basketball facts and gets straight to the point. Hummel is great also, but the ACC guys on there all suck, dauster is okay when he is sucking UConn off. But they did act like Kentucky had no chance Sunday, so the cats need to use all the hate as motivation

I agree with FO68 Illinois should be favored - they have 2 pros plus good players at every position
Our pt guard is hurt & struggling
and we don’t have a NBA player on roster
Biggest issue I see in this game is will Pope make Williams get out and contest Z’s brother
If not it will be like Arkansas game he will hit 3 or 4 on us

They were picking xavier to knock us off not that xavier is gone ….

I mean, they are favored over us too. Have you seen us play the last 3 weeks?

In fairness our only losses in the past month have come against a 1 and 2 seed while being short handed. We are 4-0 against other tourney teams (not counting Troy).

We could very well lose tomorrow but it isn't like Illinois doesn't have their own warts.

They should be favored. This type of team can give UK fits but like Tennessee I feel if they go cold from the 3 UK can win

I watch a lot of 68s clips and they've been very pro UK all year.

Our PG has one arm and our only semi close to NBA talent is out while Illinois is healthy and surging and will have the majority of fans. I wouldn't pick us if you made me put my mortgage on it.

The Field of 68 guys have been high on UK all year. They just understand that Pope is dealing with too many injuries. In a normal setting, with all of our available players, they said they would have put UK much higher in terms of teams that could have won it all this year.

It is what it is. If Pope wins Sunday, he's playing with house money. If he doesn't, he gets to hit the portal earlier than our SEC rivals.

This one thousand times
I really don’t think they’re picking Illinois because they hate UK. It’s realistic given our injuries.
We’ve had a more than good first year under Pope. And he’s adjusted so well to the circumstances
I want us to win badly, and I’m with SoS here..if we do win, it’s all gravy after this.
I think it’s possible, but the odds are slightly against us

Here’s the thing. Their biggest concern is with Jackson being out and Butler’s health, they’re also not taking into consideration Chandler and Noah’s emergence. Duke throttled this Illinois team by 40. The same Duke team we beat with Jackson Robinson scoring only 1 point

Man, I think we match up better with Illinois than Xavier. We can absolutely lose this game tomorrow, but I like our chances. Yes, they have talent, but who have they really beaten this year that makes anyone think they will just roll over us?

Butler is a shell of what he was to start the season. He is out of synch due to the injuries. Nowhere near 100%. And it shows in his play.

With a 100% Butler, we beat Illinois easily.

With the Butler that played last night, we will be lucky to keep it close.

We are down a starter (Robinson) and a half (Butler) plus a rotation player (Kriisa) and Williams is now hurt. Just don’t see us winning this one.

Hope I am wrong.

It’s just our health. More of those guys than not had us as their dark horse favorite to win the title most of the year. When we were healthy, once we had knocked off names like Duke and Gonzaga and Florida, there may actually have been more consensus hype among those guys for us than for any other school. At worst you’d have to say they basically talked about Auburn and us like we were 1a and 1b in that order.

But at this point our original starting lineup is something like 65% or 70%. It sucks but it is what it is.

And maybe they’re wrong to not be putting as much faith and hope as we are, cautiously, in the rise of our freshmen and the untapped potential Pope may still be able to bring out of this squad, at least up to about the Elite Eight level. But that’s hardly a case of Fo68 bias.

Let’s just tcb and put the proof in the pudding.
