Listening to a national sports show and an Ohio State fan called in.
He said Ohio State was the best program in the nation with two very real exceptions.

first, that the fans were too negative and always complaining that it was them against the whole world.
that they complained about everything the program did.

secondly, that they spent more time worrying and talking about “ that team up north “ than they do Talking about
Ohio State .

where have I heard all of that before?

Wonder how great they would be in the SEC. Their fans would really have something to bitch about, their schedule year in year out.

Don't kid yourself - they'd be damn good in the SEC. Yes, they don't play as tough a schedule normally week in/week out. But, they play a good schedule and they have really strong teams year after year. Came within a whisker of beating UGa in the playoffs last year and would have strolled past TCU to win the NC had they done so. Always have a ton of guys being drafted and doing well in the pros. I'd wager that OSU would be >> OK or TX right off the bat if they moved to the SEC next year. OK and TX may improve, of course, but OSU is a legit top 5 program almost every single year. I have no dreams of UK being able to walk into the Horseshoe and kick their ass any time soon, that's for sure.

A demanding fan base tends to be proportional to program success.

Show me a successful football or basketball program without fans that push for it.
Even if it sometimes to the point of obnoxiousness.

Ohio State is a legit good program. OSU would find it much, much tougher in the SEC week in and week out than whatever they call themselves now. The SEC schedule is a grind every week. I am not sure where they would be in the pecking order but it would be tough. OSU did not stroll by UM and TCU beat them(UM). What would TCU record have been last year if they played in the SEC. UGA did stroll past TCU. The SEC is by far the toughest conference and then somewhere else is the BIG?.
