Auburn, the overall #1 seed, has to play against the #13 team on the road, and if they win that game they get a 4 seed that has already beat them.

I have never seen the overall 1 seed get hosed like this.

What 8 seed gets to play an hour from their place? This is giving Louisville their best chance possible to upset a 1 seed.

While true, they didn't deserve that overall #1 IMHO.

Please. I've seen Kelsey out begging students come to the Yum arena. Ain't no alum going to be able to buy 500 tournament tickets to give away to their hoodlum fans. They can't get 3000 fans to a home game. Won't be a thousand red shirts in there. Not to mention, they won't beat Creighton.

Whether their fans show up or not, really wild they are letting the 8 seed play their first two rounds an hour from home lol.
I actually think it’s an advantage for Auburn to play at Rupp. It’s a gym that they have literally played in every year. They just won a big game there. They will be quite comfortable in the surroundings.

Auburn could play UL in Louisville and still win by 15 points. UL isn't any good. They beat up on mid majors.
Louisville is a damn tough early game. Hepburn is as good as any guard for real. Edwards can get hot. They probably won’t beat them but I wouldn’t be excited to see a team of that caliber that early. They definitely could win that game.

I need to see UL against a legit team. They haven't beaten anyone good. I think Creighton probably beats them anyways.

I don’t know about them, but I think he is dispicable. He has cheated and when caught has lied at two different universities, to his school and the NCAA. He should have been blocked from ever coaching again. He is slime.
He is a good coach, but he is a cheater with no remorse.

The way his team has behaved and run their mouths while he sits back and watched, I really don't care who he plays.

The answer is yes . They hate him .

Well, the presence of each of the football power four on the men's basketball committee every year is supposed to keep high-majors from getting screwed. Except, unfortunately for Auburn, the guy looking out for SEC teams' interests is... Alabama AD Greg Byrne.

And Greg did a pretty good job of getting pretty good seedings for all the other SEC teams in return for hosing Auburn, in the same way that Bubba Cunningham did a good job of letting them downgrade the other ACC teams as long as they let just one undeserving one in.

Historically they haven't really done much to protect the top seeds from this sort of thing. They give them the closest site [remaining], which for Auburn is Lexington, but they don't consider shipping the non-top-4 seeds who are even closer. I recall one year in the early 2000s Miss State was a 3-seed and got sent to Dallas with Texas as their 6, so this has been happening for a while.

Yep. Rules clearly state.........

To recognize the demonstrated quality of such teams, the committee shall not place teams seeded on the first four lines at a potential “home-crowd disadvantage” in the first round.

But they make no mention of second round LOL

Maybe early in the season but it’s been sellouts since this run in the ACC. I’m guessing it’s going to be pretty red outside of the off-chance a bunch of UK fans bought up the tickets early on just to watch basketball.

Wichita State got it the worst.

2nd round Most talented team in the country as an 8 seed .

3rd Round Last years Champ the Vacated.

4th round Last years Runner Up.

The happy part of the story is they missed the last second shot and UK went on.

I don't know how the selection committee feels about Pearl, but I can bet you Pearl and Auburn are very concerned to see Creighton as a potential second round opponent. Kalkbrenner is a potential matchup nightmare for Broome and Auburn. It'll have to come down to the other players for the Tigers to get past Creighton.

If Auburn meets Louisville, looks like a potential road game for them. Although, I think Louisville would still get crushed, Auburn was pretty comfortable beating us in Rupp Arena this year.

Either way, that's not ideal to begin things as the overall #1 seed.

They may have peaked too early but I do think they deserved #1 overall seed. Duke didn't beat anyone of much consequence.

On top of that, Auburn has 16 quad on3 wins which is 7 more than Duke, 2 more than Houston and 5 more than Florida. I'm pretty sure it is a record actually.

Why not cheer for the SEC teams? I cheer for UK first and SEC second.

If we cant win it all, then I hope one of our conference teams does. I would like to say we play in the best conference. We've got all this conference hype, we need to back it up

You couldn’t pay me to root for UT and/or Pearl unless they were playing Duke, UNC, KU, UCLA or UCONN for a title.

He invited a boy to a cookout. This is dumb as hell

Makes one wonder how Duke got the 2nd 1. Same reason UNC made the tourney. Probably the dominant 3 wins over that juggernaut UNC that did it.
