I'm not asking if it will click where he all of a sudden starts playing like a guy who should be the #2 pick, just plays well enough where he actually is earning legitimate role player minutes. So does it happen this season?

$50,000 question. I could see him having a 15 and 10 game or a couple 15 - 20 point games, just to tease us. But I just don't think he'll be the go to post scorer we need.

IT clicked earlier this season and the last 2 games he has looked better then the previous month so I am going to say yes . By yes I mean he will average 12 and 5 over the last month of the season .
I could live with 12 and 5, that would be better than what Poythress and Lee are doing now too.

I'd be thrilled with quality minutes from him before the season ends. It would take us to another level.

However, I don't think he ever gets there, and I think he declares for the draft.

I don't think it will "click" to the point of reaching preseason expectations. 7-9 ppg might be a more attainable goal.

I hope so, but I really don't think it is a "click" issue. I think it is a time/experience issue. I also think it will be a couple of years for him. Hopefully I'm wrong. We don't go very far without real contributions from him.

I don't know about Skal, but I do remember kwame Brown who signed with Florida and then went straight to the pro's and sit the bench for 2 and a half years. Then started coming on and by the time his contract was up,Then the team that drafted him couldn't afford to keep him, which is funny to me, NBA foolishness and too much money floating around. So in general the team that drafted him took a big loss on money and he went else where but only stayed around another few years and was out of the league in his early 20's. Skal has potential but players don't always reach their potential.

Calipari sees Labissiere "slowly coming back" from crisis of confidence but not ready to "throw him to the wolves." http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/kentucky/2016/01/18/q-calipari-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/78957132/…

He's getting pushed around way too much starting with the Duke game, where Plumlee pretty much did what he wanted. That should've been a warning sign that he was not used to this type of competition. Also loses the ball a lot in the post and has a bad habit of bringing it down below his waist which shows a lack of basic fundamentals. He does have a good shot but he's probably pressing so much that he's "thinking" more than "shooting" thereby causing a lot of misses. Just can't see him coming out of it by the end of the season as there's a lot to fix.

Kwame was in the league 13 years , his last season was 2013-2014.

It can happen given enough minutes. But might be to the detriment of the team. The skills are there; they just need honing. We'll know in a month. He, Poy, Lee & Willis are like lottery numbers: 1 or 2 may hit each game, but don't guess which one.

no kidding. Dude is only considered a bust because he was #1 overall and had all the hype in the world, was getting drafted by Michael Jordan, etc.

Still had made nearly 60M by 2012 and pretty sure by the time he was out of the League a year later had made around 65M for his career. Such an awful... AWFUL example.
Really any big man is a terrible example. Teams will sign a 6'11" guy like Kwame Brown until he physically can't perform anymore because he's 6'11".

If Murray, instead of Skal, was performing this poorly and playing this little, there's not a chance anyone would be picking him in the lottery, maybe not even drafted in the first round, because he is 6'4"
