The announcers can't seem to shut up about Florida's success against us last week. They've even shown highlights of Florida scoring on us twice during this game. We get it. Florida beat us last week. We're trying to watch this week's game and don't need to watch highlights of Florida burning us last week.

As if that wasn't bad enough, ESPN showed highlights of Texas Western beating Kentucky in an NCAA basketball championship game decades ago. You can't make this type of stuff up. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood because we've blown a 10 point lead, but ESPN just seems to love finding new and creative ways to dog Kentucky about past losses.

What relevance does a basketball game almost 60 years ago have on this game? I must have missed that but that makes no sense. I don't think espn hates UK. Espn just views UK as one of the irrelevant sec programs in football.

They said it was the last time (that year) we beat Auburn at home.

Yep. They showed highlight of Texas Western beating Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA basketball championship to rub salt in the wound that its been that long since we've beaten Auburn in football. Didn't mention that we were in separate divisions of the SEC and rarely played eachother in football over the past decades.

Who gives a shit? It’s our job to give them something else to talk about. Can they rave about our lackluster, totally predictable and ineffective offense? NO. Our soft ass D who refuse/can’t tackle? NO. Until we do better they’ll find something, anything to fill the silence with.

I was listening to Tom leach while watching the game so I was very confused why I was seeing the Texas western graphic. I guess with context that makes sense but still….lots of other things happened in 1966 lol

No ESPN does not hate UK give that a rest

They showed other things. Kaui King wins derby and Spurrier wins Heisman are two that I caught.

Not sure if ESPN hates us. But I sure do right now. Hate this team. Hate this coach. Goodness they are just terrible.
It really sucks to see our program sinking and it stings. But I honestly feel nothing for this particular team itself. They aren't really likable at all.

This. It’s an irrelevant stat to try to belittle a program…and then using a loss like that to showcase how long it has been instead of anything else that happened in 1966 is proof it’s a intentional rub.

Different divisions. Rotating home and away. Means you got 1 opportunity every 8 years to beat them at home. So 7ish opportunities. Hardly the point they were trying to insinuate…just an excuse to exaggerate and show “the historic basketball loss”

The answer is yes. We've been that school for decades with CBS and ESPN. They make a lot of hay using and dragging UK through the mud whenever possible.

We earned it this year though. Totally earned it. We've been hurting ourselves all season, so they're just piling on like they do any struggling team that isn't named Vandy.

I agree with this. We just aren't very good against other not very good teams and it shows.

One requirement for working at ESPN is that you hate Kentucky. I'm not sure about that, but it sure seems like it.

Can you blame them? I hate us. We are trash.
We got hammered by one of the worst teams in the league. I think that Mississippi State would also beat us so we could be last all by ourselves. How did Stoops think this was his year to challenge the big boys for a playoff spot. 😂
