One of these days you'll understand. The SEC does suck and the rest of us hate it because teams like LSU and Vanderbilt play out of their freaking minds when UK is tge opponent. They don't play with the same effort when teams like Wake Forest roll into town. That's the problem that you obviously don't understand.
So yes, you can have it both ways.

They have 2 players...Simmoms and Bruce Hornsbys kid....wont beat us with 2 players and much like Moody found out...Simmons wont be able to move tuesdsy night without somebody in his face

Point well taken, you would think everybody would get this sooner or later. The SEC teams we play aren't the same SEC teams that everyone else plays.(not even the ones that other SEC teams play)

Aside from that I'm not sure we have anyone that can guard Simmons either, the one positive that I see is that he may not be as caught up in the' Kentucky effect" as the normal SEC player(thinking he has something to prove)

UK needs to contain Hornsby and Simmons. Hopefully Poythress and Lee will stay out of foul trouble otherwise UK won't have anyone that can contain him. Hornsby can shoot the three ball very well but our team's guards play great perimeter defense.
I expect a close game that can go either way.

You guys are making me nervous. I live in Louisiana (New Orleans) and have to put up with the obnoxious LSU fans. Hell, my son is a graduate/Tiger fan! If the Cats only win one game a year - this is the one I want! Please, pleeeaaaaassssseeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Looks like you watched 1 or 2 LSU games but truth be told LSU has talent and veterans all over the floor. Quarterman is a very good defender, is a veteran and can score.
I should also remind you that UK has yet to play well away from Rupp. If they can lose to Ohio State on a neutral court with mostly blue in the stands than they can go get thumped Tuesday night against a much better team than OSU. LSU was ranked fairly high in the pre season BECAUSE of their talent.

1. Beating Vandy at home was a heckuva win by LSU...but Vandy has no perimeter defender like UK will throw at Simmons. I see alot of Poythress, Lee and hopefully some Matthews. Vandy was throwing some very weak ball defenders at Simmons. I really hope Alex uses this game as a plan to excel his draft stock as an elite athlete to guard an elite NBA player like Simmons.
2. UK struggles on teams that play really good defense and slack off to protect the paint. So far, LSU is a poor defensive team which hopefully helps UK score on LSU and our defense hopefully makes it much harder for LSU to score. Either way, I don't think LSU will pull away from UK due to their defensive shortcomings. Ohio St/UCLA were both able to pull away when we couldn't score the ball for long stretches.
3. LSU is weak at the guard spots. UK is a nightmare for teams w/o 2 good ball handlers. Now LSU has a major weapon we've not seen is they can simply let Simmons handle the ball which may negate our defensive pressure.

Should be a tremendous game...Looking forward to Tuesday night.

Man you don't pay much attention to reality do you? The SEC has 8 teams in the top 50 , LSU is not one of them. All i can figure is you just got out of a time machine from 2013 when the SEC did suck. But to think we are anything but a top 4 conference now is living in lala land. Period.

I think you are right, LSU will just let Simmons handle the ball to negate our defensive pressure, guarding him in the open court will be the problem(not sure we have anyone to do that), that being said unless Johnny Jones reads this board I'm not sure he is smart enough to figure that out.

I think it will be a run and gun, full out all transition game. We should get to see player skills on full display. Skal could have a nice game if he can stay out of foul trouble long enough to stay on the court.

LMAO, man you're clueless.

I thought the SEC would be much improved this year but I may have to re-think that a bit, consider the following:

South Carolina is undefeated but has played a schedule akin to UL's

Vandy was expected to be good but has under performed by most everybody's estimation so far

LSU has great talent but is 8-5 for gosh sakes

Ole Miss had a nice 10-2 record , but last night speaks for itself

Miss St picked up a new coach and some nice recruits but haven't much to show for it

Most of the rest of the league you can put in the' will beat each other up' file, somebody will come out of the woodwork to be a decent conference team, but on a national level they probably aren't going to make much noise or even get noticed.

You can not measure the rest of SEC to UK or you are gonna be talking like this every year. There are several good teams and a couple of duds...much like most power conferences

No one in the SEC has played UK yet (except Ole Miss) and they are still struggling to pick up wins against decent competition, we will probably take our share of hits(maybe starting Tuesday night) but it still doesn't make the conference what it should have been to this point.

Teams lose games...UK does not baded on 49-2 record last 51 regular season games...nobody else does that...nobody...so do not condemn SEC teams just because they lose games

Matthews will lock Simmons right down
There isn't a guy in cbb that can shut Simmons down.
Why would you choose Mathews anyway? He fouls too often while guarding average players. He will foul out in the first half trying to guard Simmons by himself.

I'll have what you're having. I like La La Land too.

Maybe we play Simmons like Rupp did with Pete, let him have 50 and play D on everyone else, now if we only had Issel, Pratt and Casey to score 25 each we would be fine.

Poy, Lee and Skal already have 2 fouls. LSU is already in the bonus and the game doesn't tip off until Tuesday night. :)

LSU is a team with two 5 star players and some good roll players that just came off a good road win. Now they have Kentucky at home. Their fans will be jacked their team will be jacked.
They may not be a good team so far this season, they may be poorly coached but they have talent. For those who think we're gonna win with ease based on the notion that the SEC is weak? I have to laugh... Ohio State was not very good either.
Now.. I think our team has gotten a LOT better since we played Ohio St. but I'm here to tell ya, this will be a very difficult game. Playing on the road in the SEC has seldom been easy and the competition on paper has not usually been this strong. Again Cats by 3 in a barnburner! Can't wait..

Simmons this Simmons that...they have lost 5 games...put the brakes on please
We won't be getting the same team that lost 5 games. We will be getting a jacked up team that has had this game circled on the schedule since it came out and now, since they have 5 losses, they will be even more desperate for a big win.
Our guys have yet to show any moxy away from Rupp. We made UCLA and OSU look like final four contenders but truthfully both teams suck.
If you think for a second that UK is going to roll into Baton Rouge and crush LSU you are sadly mistaken. It also shows me that you are very young or you have a short memory because UK gets everyone's best shot and we are young.
Was last year your first season as a UK fan? Be honest. It would make sense because you post like last year was your first year.

You do know teams play harder when UK is in town right? Everybody brings it, it's the only time they get the spotlight. Lots of media, lots of family wanting them to play well against a Cal team. The players know NBA GM's are watching.

I think LSU may even have a sellout. This will be the first time LSU will get press and they will ball all out. They have the talent to run us over.

SEC time means UK has to bring it everynight.

They had a sellout last year with awesome team and didnt get it done...this wont be close

They shot a 3 to win but missed.

This isn't little Ohio St louisville UCLA this is the SEC.

If it is not close then it will be us who gets run out of the gym, we aren't good enough to run them out of their own gym. I wish we were but that is simply not the case this year
